UNBEATEN PHILLY PROSPECT JARON ENNIS RETURNED FROM 9-MONTH LAYOFF TONIGHT

Looks like 22-0 welterweight Jaron Ennis finally has his promotional dispute settled and will fight on the ShoBox undercard next Friday, August 23. His 9-month layoff was by far the longest layoff of his career so he's got a fairly easy test against veteran Bolivian Franklin Mamani (23-5-1).

Their 10-rounder is part of the non-televised Showtime undercard but hopefully some highlights will be shown. Unbeaten 20-year-old welter prospect Brandun Lee (15-0) is also on the untelevised undercard.

Ennis was a highly decorated amateur who was 2016 Olympic alternate at 141 pounds after losing to Gary Antuan Russell in the Olympic Trials Final and Boxoff. https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Jaron_Ennis

"Boots" Ennis currently has a 12-bout KO win streak with Ray Serrano and Armando Alvarez as his 2 most recent victims.

Ennis had little ring rust in stopping veteran Bolivian journeyman Franklin Mamani with a 1st-round stoppage on the ShoBox undercard. Fellow unbeaten welter prospect Brandun Lee had a 1st-round stoppage of Francisco Medel.

Undefeated welterweight Jaron “Boots” Ennis (23-0, 21 KOs), who was sidelined for the first half of 2019 while he resolved a promotional dispute, beat up Franklin Mamani (23-6-1, 13 KOs) in the first round and Mamani couldn’t continue after that. One knockdown.

Unbeaten welterweight Brandun Lee (15-0, 13 KOs) needed just 30 seconds to blast out Francisco Medel (13-21, 8 KOs). Two knockdowns.

Gary Antoine should be moved faster. I get that he's only 23 but the opposition has been garbage for an elite amateur

Watched his last fight with Fernandez, he looks at good prospect, tall, fast and really whacks.

Ya he is , he's got that special mix of talent and meanness. You see guys like him just sleepwalk fights because they can do that, but he goes right for the kill and seems to enjoy it.

Yanks got themselves some serious young talents
