I think you mean Tony Ayala. I think it would be very competitive through about 5 rds, with the younger man applying lot's of pressure and having his moments, but then Duran's huge experience advantage would take over and Ayala would be eating counters. Cholo probably batters him to a TKO around the 10th.

If it's the Hands of Stone that fought the great Wilfred Benitez and Luigi Minchillo and Nino Gonzalez and Kirkland Laing period (1981-82) at 154lbs, ain't no way in hell that beats Tony "El Torito" Ayala, Jr. He has to be the one version that beat Davey Moore in order to beat Ayala. If he comes less than that, it's over for Duran.

Yeah, I meant Ayala, phone keeps messing up.

Ayala was a murderous puncher and would have landed a good bit on Duran but IMO Duran would have been up for the fight and scored a close decision

He better be up for the fight. Because in the Benitez, Laing and Nino Gonzalez fights of the world, he looked terrible. Horrible. Horrendously bad.
