Juan Francisco Estrada vs Dewayne Beamon

Estrada defends his WBC Super Flyweight title against Beamon live on Sky from Mexico this Saturday, I thought Estrada put on a clinic in the Rungvisai rematch, it was a domination on my card, Rungvisai didn't do himself any favours by fighting orthodox, Christ knows what he was playing at but either way Estrada made the most of it and looked great in doing so

Never heard of Beamon, looking at his Boxrec profile pic he looks a unit, I don't recognise anyone on his record but my knowledge of the lighter guys is basic is best, I did notice he's coming of an avenged win of his only defeat

Great to see the season up and running again this weekend, the last couple of weeks have been dire

I felt Estrada v Sor Rungvisai turned into a real fight, in round 9 through to the end.

Got the feeling they’re headed towards a rubber match that could put them up there with the Vazquez v Marquez first three fights. There is the notion that we didn’t see anywhere near the best of Estrada in fight one, and in fight two Sor Rungvisai “disappeared “ for the first 2/3 of the contest. Although both were superb contests, ultimately. Think they’ll put it all together for a barnstorming second sequel.

There’s also the feeling that they’re kind of getting old fighting each other, with the risk of slipping up unless they get on with their final chapter.

Estrada is expected to dispatch Beamon but maybe he’ll look slow prior to landing the telling punches.

Srisaket didn't disappear he just fought the stupidest fight of his career, fighting as an orthodox boxer when he's typically a southpaw (he did debut as a righty but made his name as lefty). Stupidest tactical mistake he could ever make.

RE Beamon he's fought a few notable guys like:
Christian Esquivel (guy Yamanaka stopped for WBC Bantamweight title), who's now essentially a professional loser
Jose Alfredo Rodriguez (lost to Ioka, Ancajas, Melindo, Palicte), a human punch bag, amazed he's managed to face so many notable fighters
Martin Tecuapetla (lost to Yaegashi, Rosales, Juarez, Melindo, Martinez, Argumedo), a tricky and tough wee bugger, but a light flyweight/Flyweight at his best

Beamon looks to have gotten them all late in their career's tbh

He did lose his momentum, going off the radar and having a fight with Iran Diaz that surely did nothing for him.

Srisaket was on a great streak and that, plus his personal problems, seemed to interrupt things. He’s never been a good technical fighter; he just needs to get back in beast mode. Yeah, his strategy was bizarre in the first eight rounds of the Estrada rematch. No urgency and wrong stance. When he went for it Estrada was starting to look tired.

Curious how Srisaket will respond. But, very glad that Estrada got the career defining victory. I remember, he came out of nowhere, almost beat Prime Roman González in a high class 12 round epic. Then, beat Viloria (who was supposed to be Gonzalez’s next big opponent) in a really good bout. Reminds me sometimes of Rafael, sometimes Juan Manuel, Marquez.

Hahahaha, yes.

Twice prime Chocoloatito almost lost on points. Other one being the first fight with Francisco Rosas. Gonzalez was dead at the weight and Rosas pushes him to the limits.

Estrada stops the game Beamon in the 9th to retain his title, fun wee fight actually theres a lot to like about Beamon, as i said he's game and troubled Estrada in there for spells, he's quick, sharp and brought a lot of pressure, Estrada had him down twice in the 2nd from left hooks, neither seemed to hurt Beamon too bad, first one caught him square footed rushing in and the second one he just touched down for a sec, Estrada took his foot off the gas though and looked a bit flat at times, i onky had him a point up at the time of the stoppage, Beamon was outworking him in the middle rounds and Estrada just looked a bit disinterested

Estrada did pick things up in the 7th and hurt Beamon with an accumulation of punches, when Estrada turned the heat up he looked class, some nice countering and combination punching, he looks so relaxed when letting the shots flow, Beamon was firing back but you could tell he was finally starting to feel the weight of the punches, in the 9th when Estrada had Beamon backed on the ropes taking punishment the ref stepped in

Glad he took care of business. Heard Beamon’s balance was fairly poor, Hopefully the rubber match between Estrada & Sor Rungvisai next.

What happened to Donnie Nietes? Vacated his 4th title to pursue the big fights at this weight, and surprisingly nothing big has been lined up for him yet.
