I dont know why but the other day i was thinking about Herbie Hide (don't ask me why) and after one of his losses i remember him pissing & moaning about not getting any attention and that people always loved Lewis and Bruno and Herbie never got thought about, so i was wondering if Herbie ever got the chance to face Bruno or Lewis, also what would you guys think the outcome would have been if these fights would have come off, cheers Foggy

Hide's chin would not stand up to the puches of either Lewis or Bruno.

Lewis would have anhilated him, and Bruno would have got to him also (but Herbie might have been winning the contest at the time of the stoppage).

Lewis vs Hide was becoming a much sort after fight at around the 1997/1998 mark. Herbie was looking very impressive during his second reign as WBO champion (albeit against some of the worst title challengers in history). Lewis at times had a beatable look about him (Briggs/Mivrovic) and Sky were certainly hyping it up on PPV - i.e. keeping the cameras in Hides after fight parties so he can discuss Lewis etc.

Both Lewis and Bruno would have destroyed Hide, especially Lewis. It would have been much the same as Hide's match with Bowe I think, only a lot shorter.

I think the timing of each mans losses had a lot to do with why they never faced each other. I think Lewis had just lost to McCall when Hide was ready to face Bowe. After Bowe, Hide's level dropped way below the level that Lewis was fighting at. A definate case on one being on the up slope, while the other was on the down.
