Michael Hunter called for a Saudi Arabia showdown against Alexander Povetkin after impressively beating Sergiy Kuzmin in New York.

After a sixth consecutive win at heavyweight, the 31-year old now wants another Russian assignment and has called for a Povetkin fight to land on the Andy Ruiz Jr-Anthony Joshua II undercard in Diriyah on December 7, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Speaking to DAZN after his victory, Hunter said: "I want to fight Povetkin in Saudi. Povetkin, you see me, I'm coming for you.

"I want to be out there and continue to make my claim at heavyweight.

"I wanted to stop Kuzmin but he's a very tough opponent. I know there's things I should sharpen up on.

"If I was a bit more diligent, I could have hurt him again and got him out of there."

Interesting fight. I imagine Hearn has already made plans for it as they were rumoured to fight earlier in the year IRC. Povetkin of a few years ago would probably be an obvious favourite, now it's not so clear.

A close call. Povetkin is still there for sure, but he became one-dimensional recently. He tryies to land big shots instead of boxing. That's why he was calculated and caught by Joshua. Hunter is more diverse boxer. If Hunter boxes like vs Kuzmin, he can do good, but he would be opened for Povetkin's power punches. Hunter moves better, than Povetkin, if he establishes jab-and-move style, he can frustrate Povetkin, unless Povetkin will be ready to provide some more ingenious combos and pick power punches.

Usyk rematch at HW!!

Hunter! Much tougher fight though.

Povetkin is simply out of time. He has only time for one more big fight and Hunter is not it.

I imagine it's a deep regret of David Price he didn't carry on his fight. Would he have a chance against Hunter?

I don’t see how a rematch at HW would be any different to their first fight. Not like Hunter was drained. Down the stretch yeh, why not. But they didn’t fight that long ago. I say keep Hunter on his hot streak.

This is a very high risk low reward match for Povetkin. Why wouldn’t he want to go out against Tyson Fury or Usyk instead?

No doubt. Can't see Pov accepting this one though. He wants one more big payday and nothing in between to ruin that for him I suspect.

Usyk-Hunter II isn't very interesting, while there are a lot of other good options for both of them. Anyway Usyk will win again, there's not much of an intrigue.

Dubois, Joyce, H. Fury, Breazeale, Washington, Chisora.

Usyk will be too much for him............

He certainly shouldn't be wasting time with h fury. I agree a usyk rematch is of no interest.

Povetkin needs to retire, hes like a reliable Toyota Corolla. Last forever but not very exciting
