McDermott must surely be the worst heavyweight to ever be advertised as a world-class prospect. He obviously doesn't have the dedication to get himself in shape, I didn't see the fight, but I've seen him fight before, and he just didn't look like a professional athlete.

Well McDErmott should go and play Rugby or polish his bronzeworks or whatever he does. HE clearly doesn't train hard enough to be a boxer.

Not necessarily true. I bet he is going to McDonalds
He looked so lazy and unmotivated
Did'nt he stand there saying he was going to knock the guy out in his last outing, when he was with the ref

PLAY RUGBY? What as a pro

you my friend need a reality check.
You have to be just as fit if not fitter to be a pro rugby player than you do boxer my friend as big fat John proves.
Needless to add i didnt notice too many riugby players coming behined hatotn in superstars!!!
also for this fight ( Krence Mcdermott), i tolerated it for 8 rounds and went for a beer.

To be fair to Hatton, it's not as if he was in any sort of shape for superstars. But you're right, at the moment top level rugby players are probably better all round athletes than you would find in most other sports. Austin Healy showed that on superstars. Ok, so it's a tv show, but he did show more strength and endurance than everyone else, by a mile.
McDermott is not a good prospect, regardless of his fitness level. He just has too many deficiencies in his game. Of course, being a great fat lump doesn't help much either. I doubt that even if he was to get into something that remotely resembled fitness, he'd be able to compete at British title level. He's just not good enough, and frankly, if he can't even be bothered to train properly, he shouldn't be fighting at all.
I'm surprised anyone managed to watch the whole thing; I watched about two and a half rounds before opting for a late night football management session.

The only thing John McDermott is good at is eating.
He may be able to challenge Gerald Nobles on breast size but that's the closest he'll ever get to the top level.

John McDermott being shit is not exactly a revalation to those blessed with sight in at least one eye.

'Big Bad John' his nickname says it all.
It's a bit embarrassing when Frank Warrens's great white hope is a 24 year old with stretch marks

Krence wasn't very impressive, I would say hold onto the title for a year and see if he can develop to getting a shot at the British title. Probably someone like Keith Long would be lined up for him next.

If that is true, then I think Krence will lose the title in his first defence.

McDermott needs to drop 20lbs to start with, he also seems to lack desire judging by his performance on Saturday.
He claims to run seven miles a day, if that is true I am afraid it's not enough.

Anyone remember the profile Sky did on McDermott a while ago? Showed him painting at home and things. I've always had the suspicion these segments were staged to a certain degree. And seeing McDermott with his usual sloth-like appearance I wondered why they didn't show him slung over the couch in front of the TV with empty kebab boxes lying everywhere. Seven miles a day, yeah. Seven packs of Malboro every morning is more like it.
Good to see Parris give the nod to the 'loser' again (like he did with Sprott). He is doing these 'prospects' a favour by giving them a kick up the arse. Close points defeat for a guy that thinks he's better than that level can do him the world of good.
You never know, this time next year it could be McDermott - Klitschko at the Mandalay Bay.

Did anyone here ever see Johns father Stan McDernott fight?
I heard he had a good punch which his record seems to reflect.

I also seem to recall hearing he wasn't the hardest of trainers himself, am I right in thinking this?

Maybe not as much as it used to but it is still an achievement.

I agree, it is still a decent achievement. But it does make you wonder what the level of competition was like that year.
