If you have him beating, even possibly beating up and controlling Kov, how do you think he does vs
E Alvarez (IMO didn't win more than 2 rounds in either fight vs Kov)
Bert (got dropped or hurt several times vs worse opponents, and far less polished)
Gvo
Browne (of course bounced off the canvas by a Kov 2x victim)
Pascal (Kov 2x victim)
Bivol
Jack (Browne victim)
Ramirez and Hart (Very close to each others level. Hart almost stopped by Dashon Johnson)
Etc
I don't see why he's not an elite LHW, capable of beating pretty much all, if he beats Kov
Canelo at LHW
Re: Canelo at LHW
They have chosen Kovalev for a reason. Yarde nearly finished him. Yarde is no Gingerhead, Senator.
I will be rooting for Kovalev but I understand why the Mexican is favored.

Re: Canelo at LHW
Okay, so how do you see him doing vs other players at LHW? For example E. Alvarez and Beterbiev.
A lot of people pick Canelo but then won't discuss him vs other top LHWs, I'm just interested in how people think he fares in general there. Kov has been dominated by no one (and for example never actually dropped to the body despite all the talk of Canelo going there) and if Canelo does it, or even just beats him, ginger must be pretty dang effective still at 175.

I think that he is too busy for Eleider. Not sure on Beterbiev. Gvozdyk has the skills to win a decision and get jobbed. Same with Bivol. I think that Pascal would be a very dangerous fight for Gingerhead.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 13:47 Okay, so how do you see him doing vs other players at LHW? For example E. Re: Canelo at LHW
Exactly. Kovalev is still good, but not quite the best LHW. But Canelo is very tough, and seeing the final bell would be enough to get him decisions over the top guys, too.ironbeard wrote: ↑17 Sep 2019, 13:57Gvozdyk has the skills to win a decision and get jobbed. Re: Canelo at LHW
He is not beating best LHWs. Too much of size disadvantage.
Re: Canelo at LHW
..irrespective of whether he beats ageing Kovalev or not, I don't see Canelo as a major player at LHW...
