Atg who fought Tyson and Foreman said Foreman punched harder. Than there is Shavers, Tua, Klitschkos and Joshua. Is Wilder at 1? Samuel Peter in his prime had tremendous power also.

He's def one of the most powerful punchers in HW history. Very difficult to compare even power cross eras.

I do think he is something really extra in his right.

Yeah, if he countines with taking people out with one punch then might be biggest puncher of this era.

Lets see how the rematch with Ortiz goes.

Right now he must be.

He's one of the hardest punchers of my lifetime. Sometimes he's KO'd people and it didn't look to be all that... But he's done it so many times.

Really hope to see him in with ortiz, fury, ruix and joshua.

Wladimir Klitschko, IMO, hit harder. Hard to quantify, but Shavers and Foreman hit really hard.

This is impossible to ascertain over the history of boxing.

He's possibly the hardest hitter at the moment though

A question i am asking myself is, since foreman is regarded as the most powerful punches ever, would ali have survived the rounds where he was just on the ropes getting pounded if wilder or joshua wouldve been in the ring instead of foreman.

Foreman telegraphed all his punched vs Ali so Ali rode most of them not taking them clean, Wilder is a different type of puncher than big George style wise , I'm not saying Wilder Hits harder but he has more speed

Ali wouldn't be laying on the ropes against either of them. Can you imagine how tired Joshua would be after 2 minutes of that pace in that heat? Ali would just box circles around wilder.

One of the hardest hitters right now for sure. Lots of fighters have a punch you have to be on the lookout for, with Wilder you better be looking out as best you can because it's one shot power.

Yeah I find it funny the way people think Ali would use the rope-a-dope against some guys, and keep trying it even if it wasn't working

He's not an idiot.

wilder defenitly the faster more aggressive puncher. and hell yeah foreman use to telegraphe his punches.

Wilder is not more aggressive than Foreman was at all. Wilder pretty much never applies sustained pressure unless he's got a guy hurt, whereas Foreman would just charge forward unloading from the start.

with aggressive i mean 'faster in reaction, if that makes sense. when wilder hurts you or you on the ropes than he goes lunatic mode prety fast punching with these fast swinging hooks till you down. foreman was slower, more portly.

 portly? Foreman was a piece of steel and a much better finisher than wilder.

foreman was super strong and a great finisher, but compared to wilder he was portly. foreman was inaccurate, slow and had no timing for his punches, relying only on his punching power.

he actually was a master of changing up speed to make up for his lack of quickness. Classic example was the Moorer fight. A lazy one two followed by a much faster one did the trick there. Also his left hook on Rodriguez and Walcott like uppercut/hook on Cooney.

I think it is safe to say that Wilder definitely fits into the top 5 of my lifetime in one punch power.

that shit about foreman is priceless.

foreman just wiped the floor with world class fighters like frazier, norton & others.

foreman just coming to his senses for a moment, not trying to literally kill ali with every single murderous punch or just one of those punches landing just about an asses hair closer, de facto on the button or ali's timing off by a split second and the greatest would have been down and out.

both of their lives would have went a completely different way than they did.

how would boxing history have changed if foreman knocked out ali that night?
