Canelo and Wilder

I think Kov is getting a bit underestimated now too. You'd think he was Rocky Fielding.

Wilder. He never seems to get any credit for what he's done. Breazeale became a bum after he was starched. Ortiz became an over the hill old man. His kayo rate is unparalled. He certainly has the most explosive right hand in boxing today.

Callum Smith. Probably because of a thin resume, but he has size; power; and skill that can make him a great.

TBF I've seen Breazeale called a slow saggy titty bum, etc for years. He has never been rated too well.

Breazeale was a very beatable fighter before he was starched. I was picking Wilder to win by KO within the first 3 rounds because I knew as soon as he landed a money shot it'd be over with. I also knew Breazeale was slow enough, and defensively open enough that Wilder landing said money shot wouldn't take long.

He handled it the way I figured he would though.

Most underestimated...hmm...

Maybe Ugas? Kovalev is definitely be underestimated going into the Canelo fight that's for sure.

why such a short list ..

most fighters outside the top 10 will be underestimated or even to a degree unknown by casual fans

Wilder hasnt fought enough top level boxers to get the credit he and some others like his promo team think he deserves .

lots of " roadsweepers "

Prograis is #1 for me, absolutely. There are so few threads about him, and he is an excellent fighter, with very attractive style.

Tyson fury?   ken shiro easily, though most probably haven't seen him. He's a p4p top 10ish fighter. I think I had him 9th or 10th last time there was a thread.

I'm not sure I'd say Prog is underestimated. I think if you asked people to specifically give their opinions of him, they would be very good in general. He is just a guy that doesn't have a flashy personality or gotten too big of exposure yet to really be on people's minds a lot. TBH, the 140 pound division seems to be a bit like that in general right now even despite the WBSS. More focus on WW with Spence and Crawford etc, and 135 with Loma.

Definitely prograis on that list. Beterbiev is crazy overrated. The new valero. Huge puncher, chin high.

His resume is pretty decent, and he is very skillful, powerful and versatile. I can not wait his next fight against Taylor.
I did not count the threads, of course, but there are so many threads here (CS) about the inferior fighters, and very few about him (and Taylor, too).

Ya, 140 seems to go under the radar given that the top 3 guys there are all really good fighters and still on the younger and unbeaten side.

Canelo Alvarez is very underestimated here on boxrec forum because of hate IMO.

I don’t think that he is underestimated by most. Everyone knows that he deserves a minimum of one more loss on his record. Everyone knows that you MUST win a minimum of 8 rounds to hope for a draw against him.

He is a great boxer with or without the help.

No no you misunderstand the topic. It's UNDERESTIMATED, not OVERRATED.

Right now maybe Pacman. Let the man have his chance at the very best to see what he can do. Nobody wants him to test his limits to the tip top again. That is his chance to make a pass on Mayweather even with a heads up loss. He came back to the tip top of another era while flood sat on his arse. Floyd would probably want the fight after he climbed the mountain too. A potential big bonus going for it. Legacy and mega cash. Let the old man loose.

I want him to do absolutely anything he wants to do for the rest of his career. If he wants to go for the winner of Spence v Porter, so be it. Or, if he wants to fight a couple of more sure win fights, great.

Pac is an active top end ATG. I am just enjoying it.

It will have been Kovalev, if he Krushes Gingerhead.
