Evangelista is a better fighter than he is given credit for.

I've always wanted to see his upset of Renaldo Snipes. It was filmed, but is another of those super rare Don King undercard fights. Probably the only copy is in King's vaults in Cleveland.

that fight was on the undercard of Gerrie Coetzee vrs Michael Dokes that was aired live on HBO
back in 1983. I think HBO just showed the main event tho.

Yes, Witherspoon vs Tillis was on the same undercard, not broadcast in the US, but the tape from (possibly) the international feed eventually surfaced. More people are interested in Spoon and Tillis than are Snipes and Evangelista though.

Evangelista was matched with Frank Bruno very early in Bruno's career, in February 1983, but a few days before the fight Evangelista (surprise, surprise) dropped out and they brought in somebody called Peter Mulindwa, who was pretty hopeless. They did that a lot in Bruno's careeer, matching him with a name to sell tickets but the fights never materialised and the replacement opponents were second-tier.
