WBO world No. 1 Jack Catterall will take on former EBU European Union super-lightweight champion Timo Schwarzkopf in Dubai on November 22.

Fans at Caesars Palace will have the chance to watch the undefeated ‘El Gato’ (24-0, 13 KOs) collide with high-class German Schwarzkopf (20-3, 12 KOs) at #RotundaRumble2 – promoted by MTK Global and Ahmed A.Seddiqi’s Round 10 Boxing Club and broadcast in the US on ESPN+ in association with Top Rank and on iFL TV worldwide.

Catterall said: “This is great news. I’m pleased to have something to aim for and what gives me that extra motivation is that this is a serious opponent with big-time hopes and dreams of his own.

“Unfortunately for Schwarzkopf, I don’t think he has what it takes to stop me from going where I’m going, which is that world title shot early next year. He’s the perfect step up for me.

“Everyone knows how badly I want that world title shot and how hard I’ve worked for it. I can almost touch it now and there’s no way I’m going to take my eye off the ball with someone as dangerous as Schwarzkopf standing in my way.

“I’m going to make an example of him. It’s my chance to send another message to the 140lb world champions. None of them should be getting comfortable because once I win one of the world title belts, I’m coming for the others.

“I can’t wait to fight in Dubai as well. I’ve watched the shows MTK Global have been putting on there and it’s an upcoming and exciting place to box. It’s very much a global sport these days and I’m looking forward to showing a new audience what I can do.”

MTK Global Professional Development Coordinator Jamie Conlan said: “This is a great opportunity for Jack, who everyone knows is already a world-class fighter and has been for some years.

“It’s also a great opportunity for the people of Dubai to come and see such a star in a high-level match-up – and of course, there’ll be plenty of people tuning in in both America and around the world to see what kind of threat Jack poses to the elite at 140lb.”

Catterall’s promoter allegedly of Queesnberry Promotions added: “It’s important we keep Jack busy while we wait for the outcome of Jose Ramirez vs. Viktor Postol.

“Jack is more than deserving of his world title shot, for two belts no less, but Timo is a solid opponent and there will be no room for mistakes come November 22.”

I was kinda looking forward to Catterall vs. Hooker..

The fights Catterall has had over the last few years will definitely benefit him when he finally fights a world class fighter [insert sarcasm emoji]

Everything about it sucks balls man i just got in the house and put it on tv and there was the announcer standing in the ring with some dodgy music on. i went and made a coffee and something to eat, came back through and still nothing had happened. Ate my lunch then done dishes etc and that was just 2 guys in the ring Even the ring card bird is pish! Surprised she's not wearing a fuckin hijab

Unbeaten welterweight Rohan Date (11-0-1, 8 KOs) scored a six round unanimous decision over Justice Addy (16-6-1, 14 KOs). Scores were 60-53, 60-53, 59-54. Addy was down in round three.

Pro debuting lightweight Fahad Al-Bloushi scored a first round KO over Sandro Tughushi (1-7, 1 KO). Tughushi down three times in round one.

Waseem is good boxer.. He'll excel with MTK. Get another world title opportunity.

Was pretty impressed with Ward there. Lacks power but he nearly had that wee dude outta there at the end and he's been the distance with some big hitters himself. The cut seemed to spark Ward in to action and he looked pretty good. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a euro title fight next if possible.

What a weird atmosphere there, pissed up English fans dancing and cheering and then no sign of any form of cheering or clapping from the Dubai locals to the boxing .

Wasn't too bad of a watch that, Schwarzkopf was super game but his lack of head movement saw him tagged time and time again by the one-two. Enjoyed the right hook to the body followed by the backhand through the middle from Catterall, had plenty of success to the body throughout actually.

Catterall really needs to step up his opposition. That's 25 fights and he's not fought anyone beyond domestic level. He's got the talent to step up a level but he's not really improving and seems to just be going through the motions half the time. He's been talking about a world title shot for a while now but he's not yet ready for that level and needs some better opponents to sharpen him up in preparation for a shot. Flanagan would be decent and should be easy enough to make.

He’s doing a Yarde. But Yarde wasn’t even really proved at Domestic.
