Fabio Turchi vs Tommy McCarthy

Sky are showing this card from Italy this Friday, Cruiserweight fight between unbeaten southpaw Turchi and Belfasts McCarthy, I seen Turchi when he KO'd Conquest on Matchroom first Italian card, wasn't that impressed with him, a bit lazy and a bit of a spoiler that night, still he got Conquest out of there pretty conclusively in the end

McCarthy's pulled of a couple of low key wins since getting stopped early from Riakporhe, he's got a points win over Dickinson and a decision loss to Askin, decent pedigree, better than Turchi's been fighting, i'd like to think McCarthy should be beating Turchi

I thought Mccarthy looked sensational when he beat Dickinson but in hindsight Dickinson may have been shot - or certainly well past his best at that point. Askin beat Mccarthy very handily - as Dickinson did Askin.

Might be a tough night but british fighters have a great record when fighting in Italy and there's quite often a big gulf in class.

McCarthy wins a SD, I had it a draw but he did look the classier boxer, just a little placid for my liking and got outhustled in a lot of the rounds, it developed into a decent scrap actually, Turchi came out wild and McCarthy looked a bit caught in the headlights and gunshy, he wasn't putting any purchase on his punches and was being bullied back, as the rounds went on he started to show more belief and began to hold his feet and sit down on his shots and Turchi looked like he hit a wall and ran out of ideas as McCarthy pulled away

Shout out to the ref who let Turchi away with murder, dangerous with the head and rubbing it in McCarthy's face along with the glove he done it for 12 rounds and despite repeated warnings he never even came close to losing a point, he should've been DQ'd if you tally up the fouls, also fight should've been stopped in the 10th when Turchi's eye was completely shut, I would've had McCarthy winning if it had been stopped in the 10th but he allowed Turchi to bully and outwork him in the last 2, still glad to see he got the win, Turchi's got plenty heart but he's a dirty bastard

A draw? I thought McCarthy was a close but clear winner. Much cleaner work.

Not a bad scrap though, as was the Belloti bout

Aye as I say he looked the better boxer but too many lulls in his work for me, glad he got the nod though but he needs to show more belief and authority in his work or he'll be bullied before long

Tommy edged it, Fabio did look nervous and not quite focused in order to win it. Good showing by McCarthy

Bellotti fight was a good watch, cards were too close though surely - Grandelli won handsomely I thought.

Ref reminded me of Terry O’Connor in the first Williams v skelton British heavyweight title fight. Skelton spent all fight fouling in various ways and all o Connor did all night was wave his finger at him.

He must have been warned about 25+ times.
