Derek Chisora vs. David Price - 26 October 2019

Get in.
Confirmed.
David Price has been announced as the new opponent for Derek Chisora on the Regis Prograis-Josh Taylor bill at The O2 on October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
The Liverpudlian replaces Joseph Parker, who pulled out through illness last week, and will battle Chisora in a big domestic heavyweight clash on the same night as Prograis faces Taylor in the World Boxing Super Series final.
Price was due to appear on the Callum Smith-John Ryder undercard in his hometown next month, but has seized his opportunity to return to the scene of his dominant stoppage victory over David Allen in the summer.
Manager David Haye revealed last week how Chisora was 'very upset' at Parker's withdrawal, although now is channelling his frustration into another significant fight after his explosive win over Artur Spzilka.
Adam Smith, head of Sky Sports Boxing, said:
"I am absolutely thrilled that we have such a brilliant new fight lined up for October 26!
"Everyone was so disappointed to see Joseph Parker have to pull out of his clash with Derek Chisora, but this is the unpredictability and excitement of boxing - in steps big David Price. What a captivating dual this now is.
"Everyone has been stopping me to say get Pricey - and Eddie has literally pulled a rabbit out of the hat. I told him I wanted a great replacement - this is fabulous.
"David is coming off that punch perfect win over David Allen; Derek off the stunning KO of Artur Szpilka - this is a cracking heavyweight battle to add to one of THE cards of 2019.
"With Taylor-Prograis, Burns-Selby, Okolie, Benn and everything else - stand by for a magnificent night on Sky Sports Box Office at the O2!"
On a packed evening of action, Scotland's Taylor puts his IBF belt at stake against WBA 'super' champion Prograis in the World Boxing Super Series final of the super-lightweight tournament.
Lawrence Okolie also challenges Yves Ngabu for the European cruiserweight title and Ricky Burns battles Lee Selby in a win-or-bust domestic clash.

As much as this would be great I don't see it. Price was so reserved against Allen. Chisora is not Allen and he has a good chin, he'll walk Price down easy and has enough power to get him out of there

It's not a great surprise that Price has filled the spot. As I've said previously Chisora is proberly 2 wins away from a big show down so this fight makes sense for him.
As for Price it's a big step forward and a decent pay day to add to his retirement fund. As much as I want Price to win this I can't see it happening. I can't think of a way Price can beat Chisora. For me chisora plays it safe for 4 or 5 rounds until Price gets tired then knocks him out.
Chisora isn't a Dave Allen looking to be hit all night and Del boy has more of a boxing brain. I just can't make a story for Price I just cannot see him beating Del.

Price has a one shot chance as Del Boy is a tough b4stard but has been sparked before and clearly Price hits hard. However, I am curious on just how hard he does hit as he has not knocked out top tier or guys with cast iron chins and he has been clouting guys full pelt and they are not all flopping around the canvas as you'd expect when hit by this superman. Possibly an element of his lack of confidence in his stamina preventing him from putting everything into shots.
But you have to imagine that Del will soak a bit up, tire him out and take him to pieces probably by the 5th

Love it if Price did him. But right now, I don't have faith in him to beat an egg.

Dissappointed - Chisora is clearly still European Level, Price is not proven at British Level at the moment really.
I would have liked to have seen Hearn / Haye use the WBA belt to get some better fights for Chisora.

Would have preferred Rivas. I liked the look out f that fella when he fought Whyte.
Tough and aggressive. This is more freakshow stuff. One punch and Price is out

What a farce, PPV ? Come on when the Fuk are people gonna wake up and stop buying into the Edward & sky co-conspirators big fraud/farce there running ? Imo it’s robbing the public, it’s absolutely scandalous, it’s becoming more and more regular and people are just feeding it.
decent fight ? Yes, of course, entertaining, big lads someone’s getting knocked out, but as a undercard fight on a smaller show, can’t keep hyping up these kind of lower level fights as PPV nonsense, or misleading and miss selling as something there not, I remember till Edward took over and Adam S, jumped into bed with him we used to be able to see as good and a lot better fights on local leisure centre shows and the old Friday fight night, this is becoming ridiculous now and that’s coming from a boxing man and fan

Price vs Chisora is not the highest levle fight, but it's one of the most exciting fights. Price can get chinned by a lightweight but can also chin an African elephant if he lands and because of this is exciting by default. And Chisoras style is naturally great to watch. Hope price gets it done somehow.

Well, just as Price was on a good run rebuilding with well-matched fights for him, he takes one that looks like he will get badly KO'd again. Chis coming at him with those looping shots will make him pee himself I'd think. Chis has been sparked but generally I'd say his chin is good.

Should of got Chisora vs Povetkin but that would of meant Eddie Hearn has to take a pay cut so thry probably have offered price a 1/4 of what it would of took for Povetkin to come over.

Well they're doing their best to keep Chisora relevant, and get him one more big fight to lose again.
This probably needs to be Price's final KO loss.
