You are better than I thought. Never a defensive master, but when the occasion called able to control yourself and box a good strategy without just rushing in as a caveman. Very very strong guy with surprising accuracy. Mixed those shots nicely to the body and that is what broke Gvo. Had Bert several rounds up when the KDs started already though.

Good fight and efforts from both guys, not sure Gvo will be the same after that. He looked broken at the end.

Beterbiev proved a lot wrong, including me. He had a truly smart performance. He pressured Gvozdyk in a smart cautious and economical way. He was activating in the endings of rounds and by the later point of the fight. His offence was diverse. An unexpectedly great performance.

Classic case of fighting to level of comp. Should've been in with Krusher/Adonis years ago. Had a shot at stopping them both. Garbage management. Gvozdyk always reminded me of a better Sillakh. A little too athletic in style.

I wrote here that his offense is something special. Still a bit dissapointed that Gvozdyk did not use holes in Beterbiev defense. But Beterbiev power impressed me even more, with few body punches he totaly broke athlete like Gvozdyk.

Very disappointed in the effort from Gvozdyk. “Pitty-pat” punches all night long... he looked and seemed “shell-shocked” from the get go. That stoppage from the amateurs must’ve really, really f’d him up. Something was badly off with Oleks all night long. That being said.... I’m still not completely sold on Beterbiev. He seems strong and fairly heavy-handed, but slow and pretty easy to hit. I never thought I’d say to myself....

“Geez..... maybe I’d like to see Andre come out of retirement....”

It seemed like he was far too nervous, from the opening bell and it destroyed his fatigue and balance.

Teddy atlas is meant to be the motivational guru. The guy who understands the mental game. Well maybe he’s a bit overrated ole Tantrum teddy.

or maybe its just easier to motivate a flat track bully or someone against an overmatched fighter, when his fighter isn't going to get his head punched in if he gets any more aggressive?

I was banking on Artur being shot since he looked old in previous can fights but tonight he was sharp. His compact style is difficult to crack. Probably best to just resort to a boring, without fault, Bivol style against him. Gvozdyk's style left too little room for error. Don't see the psychological angle much, more so a physical one, as he was, you know, getting physically beaten down and kept trying.
