“I already feel I’m in the best condition and I want to climb into the ring and make the sixth defense of my title in a great fight as are the editions of Mexico vs. Puerto Rico,” said Berchelt. “There’s a lot of talk about a fight against (Oscar) Valdez and I certainly want that fight, but the first thing is to beat Sosa on November 2. We’re always aiming higher. We want to clean out the division and go to lightweight for Lomachenko!”
Who wins at 135? Loma or Berchelt?

Cripes!
It has a whiff of Rigo about it
Loma all the way for me-if- it's in the next 12-18 months.
The little fellas can age overnight, Loma is no different.

Berchelt's big, he can box he can slug, he's got power and some skill. Very well-rounded. He'd be a handful for Loma

It's just about a pick 'em fight for me right now. I'll wait until it's closer to fight time before I decide. Loma has not looked as invincible at 135 as he did at 130 or 126. Campbell gave him more trouble than I expected as did Linares & Pedraza. I was surprised that Linares floored Loma & almost as surprised that Pedraza lasted the full 12 rounds (especially after Gervonta destroyed him inside the distance). Loma's only truly easy fight at 135 has been Crolla & I consider him to be a borderline 2nd-tier fighter.
I'm assuming Loma will have another fight or 2 before Berchelt moves up to 135. Berchelt is only 27, almost 4 years younger than Loma, so time is on Miguel's side. Their only common opponent (so far) is Thai veteran Suriya Tatakhun, who lasted the full 12 rounds with Loma while Berchelt stopped him in the 4th. Berchelt's next challenger Jason Sosa will also be a common opponent & Loma stopped him in 9, so let's see how Miguel does vs Sosa in early November.
Since I dont have enough to separate them at this point I'll have to wait until it's closer to fight time to predict because it's too close for me to call at this point.

We have Berchelt Sosa and Valdez - Gutierrez first. I think winners of these, probably Berchelt-Valdez will fight on cinco de mayo or so and then winner fo that will face Lomachenko. Lomachenko should meantime fight against Lopez-Commey winner.

Vs well overmatched opponents the more aggressive and bigger puncher will generally fare better, Loma isn't really a guy with a style or attributes who I think it works well using 'this guy stopped him faster' or 'layed him out harder' with as a sign of general superiority. Watch his fight vs the Thai for example, he prances around while in total control and doesn't step on the gas at all, while Berchelt went forward for the kill.
Although I do think Tank and Berchelt would do well vs Loma, Tank would beat him for sure. Berchelt would have a good chance.

You are trying to "read between the lines" of what I'm saying and end up twisting what I said. If I was using their comparative performances vs Tatakhun as an example of Berchelt's "general superiority" then I wouldnt follow that comparison by saying what I said about Loma vs Berchelt being "too close to call".

Common opponents
can in many cases be a valuable tool in making a prefight prediction, but in this case it's not significant enough to factor it in to picking a winner.

Loma will whizz around Berchelt no problem. Berchelt will last as long as he likes taking punches because he won't be landing much at all.
