No doubt Sky would love to keep Matchroom on, but do you think they may romove that word exclusive in the next contract?

Seems logical to me especially with Matchroom now focussing on the US market

They could use any number of promotions, they could do 1 off deals or even give someone a certain number of cards a year.

They could even sign their own fighters and put on shows themselves /co promote with individual fighters like GGG does.

I don't know if Eddie talks a lot of smack but he reckons SKY have to go through him on anything boxing related

eg even getting Spence vs Porter they have to ask for Eddies permission lol

Was it Hearn in an interview recently that said that sky to change their model and will be more of a platform to access other content - so for example if DAZN come to the UK their app will be hosted on Sky. I don't really see the point but I got the impression that Hearn is likely to sack off Sky.

Sky's boxing presentation is getting outdated and stuffy and I think that DAZN could really help bring content up to date over here.

Sky are missing a trick.

Sky could ‘own’ an arena

Sky could run a studio ring, so more fights can happen, without the pressure of filling an arena. Non ticket sellers who are decent can grow

Sky don’t need to ‘fill’ slots. They own the slots.

Sky could build a stable

Sky could sign every Olympian, and showcase them on a Fri night free card. Offer a generous contract, with incentivised conditions etc, to stop stagnation

Sky can promote from within with Talksport, and their Sky Shows.

Sky could go ‘reality tv’ with the stable. Maybe YouTube style.

Sky could own a gym. Sky could invest in current gyms.

Sow the seeds, harvest the best fruit.

Adam, if you are here, I need a job 😉

That’s a big if for DAZN coming to the UK and probably a long way off - Matchroom have a long term partnership with Sky over Darts/Fishing/Boxing - it’s a lot more than just Boxing.

That’s a fair point, I do think they would do well in the UK though, maybe as said sky may offer it as a streaming service.
