Saunders may be an appealing good scalp for Canelo atm

Saunders is still undefeated and he's the smw wbo champion but he's not looking that slick and sharp as he used to be. So for Canelo would be a good moment to take BJS's 0. Also I think that BJS would love to cash in vs Canelo rather than risking his '0' and a fat Canelo payday against Callum Smith or Jacobs. :TU:

Everyone knows Saunders would stink the place out though, that is probably the reason his record is lacking top quality opponents.

Why would Canelo risk pissing off his fan base for a belt?
His fans like action fights. The only time I've ever heard boo'ing at a Canelo fight was the last 2-3 rounds when Wifebeater Jr was dancing around him not engaging.
I can't imagine his fans tolerating a BJS performance without starting a riot after 3 rounds. It's a security risk. Even the lovely polite Canadians were ready to burn the joint down during the Lemieux fight. And thy was one of his slightly more entertaining performances.
Canelo doesn't care that much about one belt to bother I think.

The same way that Golovkin, Canelo, Eubank Jr. et al “lost their pen” when they had the opportunity to face Saunders?

It depends of what version of BJS would appear inside the ring. But yeah I agree that Canelo would beat him.

Agree but somehow BJS is seen as the 'white version of Lara' who nobody wants to fight him bc he is too 'slick and tricky' (not so much atm), so Canelo may jump at the opportunity and add another 'difficult' opponent style wise on his resume. Not a very good business but it solidifies his legacy even more from the perspective of boxing purists, I guess. :TU:

That is possible. I still stand by my statement. Canelo has built his fan base by being entertaining. His Mexican or Mexamerican fans are probably not the right audience for a BJS fight. Canelo has dropped belts in the past. It's more about the business and $$$ than the plaudits. So it makes good business sense to avoid BJS. Keep his fans on side. Let's face it, he can cherry pick anyone from MW to LHW and put on a show. He does not need to piss off his fans for whatever BJS brings.

I suppose the videos I previously posted during our previous chats about this matter don't count, eh? :OhYes:

Even die-hard GGG fans have conceded the accuracy of my claims.

Yup. Indeed BJS is a spoiler in terms of action. Probably a 3rd fight against GGG would make more $en$e for the fans than a fight with BJS.

You don't know the inside discussions between the parties involved and how serious they were. So stop speculating based on some very subjective videos. Bottom line is GGG, Canelo and Jacobs fought each other showing their will to fight the best meanwhile Saunders was playing safe to keep his 0 intact for the time he would want to cash in. He fought a bunch of stiffs after Lemieux. :OhYes:

Now that Saunders is with DAZN and he also senses that he is starting to slow down he may beg for a Canelo big payday to cash in. BJS would basically sell his beloved-coddled 0 and his trinket to Canelo for a fat paycheck. :TU:

Tom Loeffler and Fräñk Wärrën do... or does their opinions (captured on video) not count? :OhYes:  :TU:

You’re pretending that you’ve not seen them, but we’ve discussed this topic multiple times on numerous threads. And you’ve even commented on some of the videos I posted.

Agree. And the same applies to Andrade. Snooze fest performances don't get you Canelo fight.

I only see the highlights of last night but BJ's is normally pretty bad when there's no real test and canelo has slow feet and doesn't like mover's I'd call a canelo fight as 50/50 i thought canelo looked average vs kovalev other than the last 10 second's

Alvarez really should collect a belt at 168 before he gains too much weight and permanently moves to 175. So I mean, fighting BJS or another SMW titlist right now would make sense.

That belt held by BJS isn't worth much more than Fielding's paper belt. Saunders didn't beat anybody of note to get it or defend it.

Doesn't matter in the context of the trivial question: "How many weight divisions has Alvarez held a belt in?" Also related: Pacquiao should've made a pit stop at 140 to collect a belt there.

I think about it this way;
Would I pay top dollar to see Canelo and BJS fight?
Taking into consideration the undercard will be lousy, as his gingerness sucks all the money out first.
The answer is no.
No way.
