Kirk Laing v Llloyd Honeyghan

Kirk had the special skills to beat elite fighters and make good Euro fighters look naïve and frankly a bit silly.
But he also blew hot and cold, with a non-boxing lifestyle and long absences from the gym.

But does a focussed, fit Laing run rings around Honeyghan or does Llloyd either jump on Laing or get to him late a little bit like Colin Jones famously did twice over?

There are versions of Honeyghan which steamroller Laing....but also enough evidence to suggest that if a primed Laing could have been on the other side of the ring instead of Gene Hatcher circa 1987 there could have been a huge upset.

I think eventually Honeyghan would take over as in his win over Donald Curry. Taking facts into consideration, however, I don't see honey stopping Kirklang. A comfortable points win 4 sure.

Thanks for this fellas.
I posted this - thought it was a fun and interesting fight - and then got nada

I watched a fair amount of Honey's fights and there were times after Curry when he was way too aggressive and seemed to become a bit of a head-hunter and to his detriment. He was always far better as a box-puncher.

There's a scenario where Laing (having been somewhere near a gym) could upset Lloyd with his hand speed and ability to slip in and out of range so rapidly and seamlessly. But the smart money goes on Lloyd by late stoppage.
