Is there a better pundit/commentator out there? Not in my opinion. The guy is just top class. I loved him as a fighter when i was a boy but he almost always hits the spot with his commentary... He's a genuine guy and that comes across when he's on tv...

Hes good but he overrates and has a bias for scittish fighters. Like last night he said they'll both be world champions when neither look like they'll get past European level imo.

He posts on ESB forum as 'The Amazing One'. Should try get him over here.

Anyway i like Alex Arthur, knows the game, talks sense; I'd like to see him used more, much better than Froch for example who couldn't even be bothered calling Errol Spence by his name in the world title fight with brook, he kept calling him Spencer.

I like Arthur I was a massive fan when he boxed, I met him at an amateur show last month, he was working his young lads corner and my mates son beat him, even my mate thought Alex Jr was unlucky and told Sr afterwards but credit to Arthur he gave my mates kid all the credit and told him he deserved his win, he might have just been gracious or he might just have high standards for his young lad but either way it was a nice touch

I spotted him as soon as I walked into the club, he was mid conversation but I had to rudely interrupt just to shake his hand

He was on a few Sky shows wasn't he? The fact they've not had him back speaks volumes...

I train with Alex and the guy is great company. He really knows his stuff and I’d say has about the strongest core I’ve seen of anyone I’ve ever trained with. If he’d have been a lightweight think he’d have an even better career. I’m biased as I was a big fan of his boxing back then and my good pal was his teammate.

His sons are gentleman also, a credit to him and his mrs.

The Gomez fight was a sickener, probably one of the best fights ive seen just a shame it was Arthur on the receiving end, its mental seeing his young lads grown up, I remember seeing them shadow boxing on the TV with Alex when they were about 4/5, they had good form even back then,

Loved Alex Arthur. Thought we'd get an Arthur v Harrison fight which would have been massive.

Really like AAA, the Gomez fight was a flat out classic, but it’s painful viewing for me, as Arthur was a class act, and Gomez was an ‘orribile little shite ...such is life..

And what a ferocious beating the very brave Arthur endures - the gutless ref does him NO favours ( while clearly trying to ) a career ender - the balls on Gomez though !

i first met alec in a barbers near the old college in edinburgh. i was reading a boxing article in the paper and this wee boy started talking to me about the fight. he clearly knew his stuff even then, and of course he went on to tell me he was a fighter,and that he was gonna win the scottish championships, then the commonwealth games gold , be a british champ then probly a world title!! thinking that he was a bit of a fantasist , i asked him a few questions and it turned out that he knew one of my wee brothers who was a scottish champ at the time....
he mustve been about 13 or 14 years old and probably weighed about six or seven stone, but even then his confidence and self belief was sky high. he spoke eloquently about boxing, was engaging,sociable ,and friendly. over the years i watched him fulfill all the predictions he made..
a few years ago i was up in edinburgh for a night out and i bumped into him and had a few drinks...i think he was the euro champ at the time..but he was the same personable relaxed and friendly character, just more accomplished.

Dont mind him. But he was a bit arrogant back in his younger days.

He had a lot of talent so suppose thats why. Watched him from amateur days through to now, he could humiliate folk in scotland though at amateur level which wasnt nice. He has defo matured and is a good and fair pundit who speaks well.

How was he humiliating people in a non mature way

I think you're underrating both guys there. Early stages of their careers and both seem to be improving fight by fight. In this day and age with 4/5 world titles on offer then i'd say both guys could win world honours if managed properly...

considering 20 fights total experience is was very high level IMO
