It's crazy how people compare Wilder with Foreman and Shavers! Fat Stiverne went 12 rds vs Wilder !

Let's be fair, Wilder was carefully matched and he was in no rush. Look at his resume. Wilder's first best win was a 12 rds UD against Stiverne and then a TKO win over a 38 or 48? y/o Luis Ortiz. A semi-retired fat Fury boxed Wilder, which tells us a lot about how good Wilder is. Wilder is not even close to Wladimir Klitschko or even Povetkin in terms of punching power. And their resumes speak for themselves. Knocking out a few stiffs and old fighters doesn't make you an ATG HW puncher. So people should take it easy.

The nature of Wilder’s victory in the Ortiz rematch is yet another typical example of the inevitable “pendulum swinging” effect found in most fight fans and the media where they go from one vine (fighter) to the next based on the sports most recent noteworthy performance.
A lot of people quickly fall victim to a typical “pendulum shift” as soon as someone in the sport does something "big", where the momentum seems to bury the reality.
Basically, too many fans and members of the media go overboard with accolades whenever one of the sports' biggest stars compete.

If nothing else, Wilders punching power is real.

Some people act like Wilder knocked out a 30 y/o Luis Ortiz. There is no doubt that Wilder has ko power but it's crazy to compare him with the ATG hw power punchers because he knocked out a 40-50? y/o fighter in Ortiz and he knocked down a semi-retired fat hw in Fury.

Wilder has ko power and there is no doubt about this thing but If people compare Wilder with Foreman or Shavers then Wladimir Klitschko who T/KO'ed fighters like Chris Byrd, Thompson, Ruslan Chagaev, Eddie Chambers and Kubrat Pulev, with whom should be compared? Godzilla?
Imo Andy Ruiz Jr with his T-Rex arms and his chubby body proved more in terms of punching power than Wilder. Quality over quantity.

Some people’s obsession with downgrading Wilder is really some sort of mental illness.
No one is saying he is an all time great in boxing skills....but the pop in his punch is undeniable.
The idea that because Bermane Stiverne went 12 rounds once negates that, is just silly.

Wilder has ko power but against stiffs and old men. Wilder couldn't beat/defate a sem-retired-fat and out of shape Tyson Fury. lol And those are facts.

I thought Mayweather was hated.
I've never seen the level of hatred for a guy that knocks out all but one opponent after 40 plus fights and 10 title defenses.
No the guy will never be mistaken for sugar ray.
But damn he can hit.

Yes he can. It is completely appropriate to compare him to the all time best hitters. Even Wilder detracters are now discussing his incredible power in all-time perspectives. It certainly isn't only because of the Ortiz fight. I think his demolition of Breazeale and Ortiz has validated what the rest of us already knew.

Chubby Andy Ruiz has proved that he has elite level punching power, grit, chin and boxing skills. He stopped a prime-young-solid champion in A.J!

AJ already TKO'ed Breazeale when he was undefeated.

Are you really comparing that seventh round TKO to a one punch first round blasting? LOL! C'mon man!

Anthony Joshua was only 26½ years of age when he performed the very first defence of his IBF world heavyweight title against the undefeated Dominic Breazeale during his 17th outing. This was 995 days after the Brit made his pro debut (a career spanning roughly 2½ years).
Deontay Wilder was 33 years of age, competing in his 42nd bout of a professional career spanning 10½ years, whilst engaging in his tenth world title fight, at the time he faced Dominic Breazeale (a man that had already tasted defeat and had previously faced monumental struggles to defeat opponents that weren’t world-rated, whilst having hit the deck on numerous occasions).

On boxing forums we see so much Wilder hate, and also a lot of 'stop the hate/everyone's so unfair' circle jerks. The man just has all sorts of hate and anti-hate swirling around him
BTW look at some of the fighters who went the distance with Foreman and Shavers

This might be true considering he'd already KO'd the guy without losing so many of the rounds. But I want to be excited and hyped!!

Wilder broke his hand early against Stiverne and boxed to decision in the first fight.

Yeah everytime one of Wilder's opponents go more than 10 with him, he brings up that silly excuse. Probably against Tyson Fury , Wilder had all his body broken. lol
