Hello all,

Would anyone have a copy of the March 1932 issue of the Ring Magazine (with Lou Brouillard, Billy Townsend and Jimmy McLarnin on the cover)? I would like to know if there is actually an article on Lou Brouillard inside the magazine, because, as I have learned with old issues of The Ring, the fact that a fighter is on the cover doesn't necessarily mean that they speak about him inside. I need to know because I am writing an article on Brouillard. If there is indeed an article about him (or the welterweight scene at the time) in the March 1932 issue, I will buy it on eBay. Thank you for your help.

Martin Achard

PS: This is the issue I am talking about.

No, there is no Lou Brouillard article in that issue (nor Townsend or McLarnin).

He does get a mention in the wish-list for outstanding matches to be made that year, though it's a top twenty not top ten as it says on the cover.

Nate Lewis has:

19- Jimmy McLarnin v Lou Brouillard
20- Lou Brouillard v Billy Petrolle

Nat Fleischer has:

17- Jimmy McLarnin v Lou Brouillard

There's some good info about Brouillard in the book Goin' the Distance: Canada's Boxing Heritage, written by Murray Greig in 1996.

For whatever reason, he is a fighter you don't hear much about. Great fighter.
