Often wondered what had happened to him. Seemed to have just disappeared after his upset loss to Jupp few years back. Came across an article on my newsfeed today and he's had a right hard time of it recently. Two spells behind bars, depression, bad on the drink, kids in care, fell out with family. He's fighting an unlicensed fight soon for some xmas money then hopes to be back next year at 135. Hopefully he can sort himself out and have a serious go at things because he has the talent.

Shame what he's gone through. Looked a real talent 5 years back, but their was always rumours about his lifestyle and chaotic domestic situations that wouldn't go away. All turned out to be true sadly. Hope he gets himself together.
The Jupp fight tipped him over the edge but he was a real prick towards him and got what he deserved.

You can't beat a good rise, fall and rise again story in boxing and I'd love to see him come back and win a British title.
It's a very long road though.

Poor bastard obviously he's been stupid but he's paid for it . crazy he can't apply for a license till his probation is up surely it would give him a reason to stay straight.

He's gonna end up as Londons answer to Scott Harrison unless he screws the nut!

What has Happened to Scot harrison?
He's been quiet recently which can only be a good thing for him. He's recently had another kid and is training in his dad Peters gym in Glasgow. I think he still has hopes of coming back but it won't be with a British licence. Hopefully he just forgets coming back and keeps his head down. He's got a trade to fall back on or he could help coaching with his dad...

Not sure about that. If he went to gym he could fight Welter weight with ease

But to be fair he never rejects a fight.

I would imagine he’s boxing anywhere between Welter and Light-Heavy. I’m sick of seeing him....

Could be wrong but from what you hear he's his own worst enemy.

I watched a video of him boxing a complete novice from down my way about 6 weeks ago. I heard a rumour that he's had 300-400 fights and after seeing the bout please tell me that rumour is not true, he's useless.
Cairn couldn't lace up smiths gloves let alone share a ring with him

He’s 0-39 in MMA too....
He will have had more than 400. Often fights twice a day on a weekend.

Saw this really fat lad at my gym in North Harrow a month or so ago and thought “He really looks like Mitchell Smith”
And despite being out of shape, was training vigorously and looked like he knew what he was doing. Guess it was him!

Article says he's having another unlicenced fight in February.
With the board not been keen on on former licence holders taking part in unsanctioned bouts, will they grant him his licence back even after his probation is up?
Seems like yesterday he was threatening to go down to featherweight to chin Warrington

The board are a fuckin joke at times. The guys got to eat and has kids and if fighting is all he knows then the board surely have to take that in to consideration?
I'd forgotten about that Warrington nonsense though

Fingers crossed Mitchell turns things around, seems like a good lad and learnt his lesson. Good luck to the lad

Deffo mate. He was decent to watch. Would be a shame to see his talent completely wasted

Like that now as he desperately needs his licence back and kidding on he’s the reformed good guy....I’d have my doubts over him as he was a complete bell end before & 2 spells inside to boot. Be amazed if it’s not all an act to get BBBOC to grant him a licence.

Maybe you're right but the sport is full of total bell ends

Agreed.
"I could go and work a s*** job for £60 a day but I don't want to do that." - Mitchell Smith.
Talented fighter or not if I had 5 children to support this wouldn't be my attitude. Plenty of lads juggle both.
Why not give that a spin until you get your licence back?

I know a few who’ve gone pro from unlicensed, no problem.
