“It was his night and I think I think I didn’t prepare how I should have,” Ruiz said after the fight. “I gained too much weight, but I don’t want to give no excuses. He wanted to box me around, but if we do the third fight you best believe I’m going to get in the f–king best shape and be in the best shape of my life…
[the weight] kinda affected me a lot. I thought I was gonna feel stronger, I thought I was gonna be better, but I think next fight I’m going to get more prepared. I’m going to work with my team a little bit more. I tried to train myself for my last preparation.
“I think I was chasing him too much instead of cutting the ring. I was hesitating too much. My arms felt like I couldn’t throw my combinations. But you know what? I know next time I’m going to do a lot better. Who wants to see the third trilogy fight right here in Saudi Arabia, baby?”

So, Andy has learned after the fight what we all knew after the weigh in. He should have been in the "f–king best shape" this time, not next time. The third fight is never happening and I doubt anyone ever wants to see him again.

Ruiz is a joke, typical of so many fighters, gets a big payday and all interest is lost but shouting for a rematch so he can earn another few million. He doesn't deserve a rematch if he can't be arsed to train and happy to admit it too. So much for all his big talk, the only thing big was his him.

Hearn won't pay him a 3rd time after he's turned up looking that bad and then admitting to not training. He doesn't bring anything to the table now he's lost.

I'd bet he's inactive for the next 12 months getting fatter and enjoying himself all over again. When he comes back he could be invited to the UK for one of our prospects to beat up on prior to a world title shot.

It has to be Pulev (mandatory) or AJ will have to give up the IBF belt.
Usyk is AJ's WBO mandatory he might have to surrender the WBO title instead - we'll see.
It looks like one of the belts will have to go.

From a business point of view Usyk makes the most sense cause then they can charge all the numb nuts £25 a pop again and thr sheep will follow,pulev wont sell as well so Hearn and AJ will push for Usyk.

Would love to see Usyk,hate to see Pulev.I think he'll have short run as champ and then get beat again after he falls back into the trap of getting involved in a scrap.

I went to my brothers at 9 and he had it on,I gave him down the banks told him its nuggets like him that make sky think its ok to put it up to 25 quid.

I thought that was the weirdest thing to say. Yeah sure, everybody wants to travel 1000's of miles to a horrific country with an atrocious human rights record where they stone people and rape their maids and sit in a lifeless arena with no booze so that you can enjoy the fantastic billion dollar buffet and Victoria's Secret hookers they sorted you again?

If he fights Usyk and vacates the IBF, Pulev is #1 and the #2 spot is not filled. Agit Kabayel is #4 Adam Kownacki is #3. If either of those two fight Pulev, then the IBF belt will leave Matchroom and go to Top Rank or PBC.
If he fights Pulev and vacates the WBO title, Usyk will probably fight Parker for the vacant and regardless of the result, the the belt stays at Matchroom - Don King style. Joshua would have to be having a terrible night to lose to an ancient Pulev and he can always fight Usyk afterwards.
He might get an accommodation from one of the governing bodies, but that would probably mean fighting them back to back.

IBF mandatory isn’t he? Got to be done at some point. Still, he’s better than virtually anyone else. Would he beat Ortiz? 50/50 fight probably. He’d certainly beat Breazeale and anything Fury has ever beat apart from Wlad so in the grand scheme of things he’s not terrible by any stretch.
