It was over when Joshua and co decided to adopt a different approach. Ruiz has never has the footwork to beat him when he fights like that. No amount of weight loss would have helped the Mexican imo.

Ruiz did Joshua a favour. Not everyone can be simply overpowered and walked through. Everyone needs planning for and to be afforded full focus

I am not so sure.

Credit to Joshua but let’s not pretend he was supreme or sensational. He fought a clever fight but I thought he fought a little bit scared and to me he is a touch fragile and maybe might even have lost some faith in his own punch resistance. I worried for him during the rare exchanges close-in. I see him at risk of another shock loss before he gets to Wilder or Fury.

In addition, Ruiz was entirely inept and offered very little. i think it’s widely accepted that Ruiz was badly out of shape and there really wasn’t any effort or urgency from him.
