Scott Harrison will make the next defense of his WBO featherweight title in Glasgow on January 28.

I assume it is because he holds the coveted English Featherweight title.

Don't see why he wouldn't face Polo.

This would give SN the chance to say he is facing the number one contender - a man who beat Abelyan in a round. A man who lost a split decision on a technicality to Manny Medina and also lost on split decisions to WBA champ Gainer and then WBO champ Chacon.

He also has 24 KOS from 34 fights...even though he hasn't knocked anyone remotely decent out for years.

They can even claim Polo is the Latin American champ...a title he won by beating a three fight novice who had NEVER won a fight (according to Boxrec).

Don't know if you have ever seen Polo in action Ian, but he is probably a very worthy challenger. Most saw him as a winner vs Jaun Pablo Chacon when he fought for the title before. I thought he won it with a bit to spare.

Not saying he will beat Harrison, but I would be very happy if this fight was made. I would say he is on a par with the 2003 version of Medina.

He has a perfect profile for a challenger. Even if you thought he beat Chacon, Harrison has already widely outpointed him. If he's as good as a 2003 Medina, Stu, Scott has already beaten him too!

Don't get me wrong - Polo would be a massive improvement on his last two opponents...which wouldn't take much.

A reasonable opponent to take on whilst he plots world domination.

Yep, Polo looks like a decent pick...It's just frustrating that another Sports Network fighter seems to be lining up a 'marking time' fight.

Also Brodie isn't ranked which probably indicates that he isn't an option for the forseeable future (if he wants to fight Harrison).

I'd be totally confident that Harrison would beat every name on that list. If only because some of them shouldn't be anywhere near the top fifteen yet. Having said that, there are a few on that list that might make for an interesting night. St. Clair is the name that immediately jumps out at me. That might, potentially, be the trickiest fight, and therefore one of the least likely to occur.

Considering the general standard of Sports Network fights this year, I'd settle for Polo, it'd be a definite step up. Although, if it's a voluntary defence, St. Clair would be my preference.

It will probably be Smalls who were the stand in opponent for the Kebede match.

He also lost to him in the year, plus Polo gave Gainer a good fight (many thought he won, I haven't seen it so cannot judges).

Polo has a good jab and I would say the height and reach over Harrison, I would be happy for the match because I think Polo deserves another shot (because he really should be champion).

He's fighting Frankie Archuleta on January 28th.

I think the best option would be a rematch with Kebede.

Gainer definitley won the fight, floored him twice if i remember right. Polo forced the action in the later rounds, leading to the crowds negative reaction to the verdict, but Gainer was a worthy winner IMO.
