They are said to already be in negotiations to face each other in April.
I personally am against this. I understand that Lomo wants to unify the belts, however Lopez is still only 22 years old and should defend his newly acquired belt at least 2 more times before facing someone of Lomo's caliber. I think #3 ranked George Kambosos Jr (18-0, 10 KO's) has earned himself a title fight vs Teofimo.

Definitely not. Just bring Lopez - Loma, no more BS fights. I cannot stand this "he is too young" thing. If you have world championship belt, you must be ready to defend that against best. Thats boxing about. Plus, he is talking a lot of sh"t so he must be ready to back it in the ring

Yup. These things like is 'too green' or 'needs to marinate a little more', etc are what is ruining this sport, As a boxing fan my interest is to see the best fighting the best. I'm tired to see a young
champion waiting for the top dog in his division to age and slow down .

lol
Davis is on that cherry diet i.e Gamboa, maybe Juan Manuel López, Linares, Easter and Ryan Garcia. So many good names for the young Gervonta to fight. Also I think LSC is on Gervota's radar. Ain't gonna see too soon Loma vs Davis. Anyway I hope I'm wrong. lol

It will "marinade" until Loma is 36.

Canelo was too green to take on Mayweather Jr ..... and the results did not work in the young Mexicans favor. Plus, this sport is a business and I think rushing a fight vs Lomo is a bad business move. This needs a little more building up promotional wise.

Agree 100%
Old Arum must have something up his sleeve if he wants to rush Lopez into this fight. He's too experienced and savvy a promoter not to let this fight marinate.
It makes no sense at this time. PPV buys would be very low. Lopez needs further building up and I have a hunch that Lomachenko is one of those guys who will never become a huge PPV attraction.
Let's see if this bout really comes off in April or all this talk is just a sly way of keeping Lopez and Lomachenko's names in the spotlight.

Lomachenko has 4 serious threats: Lopez, Davis, Haney and Berchelt. Haney is after surgery, Berchelt will fight Valdez and Davis is with another promoter. Lopez is only option. Fights with Crolla and Campbell was disapoiting. Time is running out, Loma must deal with elite and Lopez is elite. No marinating Sh/t

Yeah sure. So Loma needs to hit 36-37 y/o to be feasible for the young champions?

WhyTF are you called a champion for, if you don't fight the best in you division? And since when a boxing fan should be concerned about 'marinating fights' to fill the 'empty' pockets of others? Fuk no! I want to see the best fighting the best.

In the meantime ryan and devin can battle it out.

The both have 15 fights, although Loma has faced better opposition. Lopez has only gone 12 rounds once. Lopez probably isn't ready, but if not now, then when? It's not really fair to wait until Loma is old either. Loma is probably one more hand fracture away from retirement too.
