Sad to see Australian titles competed for over 8 rounds. Not a big enough test
I know we will never go back to 15 but back in the day even state titles were over the full distance.
I think 10 rounds would seem a better challenge for me, Thoughts?

Ten rounds is the appropriate standard.

If a conditioned fighter can't last 10 ten rounds fitness wise, he shouldn't be in the ring.

Eight rounds is prelim level. What are they going to introduce next - 2 minute rounds for men's title fights?
