Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez - October 17, 2020

Apparently, in a post fight presser, Carl Moretti hinted it may be a PPV.
He was asked about Haney, and he said something along the lines of, "he's only worried about Lomachenko and Lopez. Haney can buy a ticket or buy the PPV like everyone else."
I'm from the UK, so I have no idea if we'll even get it here as per recent US cards.
Will end up finding an ESPN stream..
Is this fight worthy of PPV? I means it's a 3(4) belt unification bout. It's been anticipated for around 1 year. It's a very good fight on paper and if anyone knows boxing and their styles, it's a must see fight.
I don't think Loma is greedy for money. TR has a big ESPN budget, can easily pay them a cobined purse of $5-6m and it may be happy days. Undercard will be full of TR prospects anyway, smaller purses.
Arum/ESPN are the ones who will get greedy and slap it on ppv. Will be added incentive to add to the boxers paychecks and line up their own pockets.
I think it would be great if this was on regular ESPN.. Forget even ESPN+, just regular ESPN. Of course money is more important than viewership.
What do you American's think? Thoughts?

Loma wouldn't have problems with selling tickets or getting views either way. So it is a money decision.

Well it's certainly better than any of the PPV main events from 2019. But I'm still not buying unless there's a damn good undercard.

Yes i have dazn. The question u ask is very stupid. Do u prefer paying 50 $ per ppv fight or ~13 $ a month. Rhetorical question.

$50 sounds fair. A 22 year old psycho that just smashed Commey in 2 rounds vs a seasoned superstar that holds 3 championship belts. Yea, I’ll throw some money down to see that.

To us diehard fans its worth $50.
But I dont think it sells to the casual fan. I'd predict low ppv buys

As long as the guys get payed well and they can sell it outside the US, like you know Ukraine where Loma is a megastar like Usyk.
PPV is milking the fight for money in one market. Then again you could see most of Mayweathers fight on freetv in other countries then the US and UK.
Taping that global market is what makes the heavyweights rich. Since well, look where the reveune is coming all over the place and people are talking about it. Also, it is in the sportpapers again. Boxing ain't big here. Even if we did get some good guys like champ in Jack with two solid conteders in Yigit and Skoglund. Not forgetting Wallin in the HW, outside the 50 but hey! Along time since we had a solid big guy claiming over here.

Interesting post above. Swedish boxers are fun to watch. I wonder why the overall sport is not resonating with their population. That Otto Wallin fight combined with a big Badou vs Pascal fight has me fired up!

Well ESPN+ is $4.99. But you'd rather pay $13??
I couldn't care less. It won't be a ppv in the UK anyway.

Following Jack since I was sixteen. My trainers eyes lightend up when I asked about him. Never forgot about that, never seen the old bastard like that again.
What happend to Skoglund was horrible and I do hate that the guy I share a Bday with has a random brainbleed during sparring. Then again Life is a comedy. Hope that he is doing well.
And please, piss off.

Yeah, true.
I do hope that they get an event on New Ullevi again. I don't think we had one since Ingo. Also, it is close by.
I do hope we got some hungry kids looking at Badou and give it a real go in the pros. But, we do lack real fighters other then tough guys that comes around now and then. But, this kids that are behind my generation have more fire. I do hope somebody will be able to fill the void after Badou.
Boxing ain't that big, but it has grown since I was got into it.

Loma vs Lopez PPV? I hope not, but it would be better than most recent fights on PPV. I honestly think Haney has a better chance of beating Loma, but guess we have to wait on that. Lopez KO's Commey, impressed, but not sold on him just yet. I think Loma beats him by wide UD. Haney has better skills over-all in my opinion, and will take Loma in a close fight.
