Under the radar/unappreciatied careers?

I really barely see anything written about Moruti Mthlane, but dude has been wracking up solid wins for years, including stopping both Tete and Casimero, and now still on a good title run despite being a little guy closer to 40 than 30. https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/85424. He's been doing some real good work on the road too.

Who have been some guys , active now or in the past, domestic or international, whose success has gone under the radar or really not appreciated?

Gregorio Peralta - Light heavyweight and heavyweight from the 50s - 70s.

Took a young George Foreman the distance at 35 years of age and despite losing, showed the early blueprint for beating Big George.

Had a rematch with Foreman, but was TKOd in 10; again, not a bad result when you consider what Foreman was doing to his opponents.

Also went the distance with Ron Lyle not long after.

Solid fighter who probably doesn't get appreciated because he fought in such a stellar era.

For a boxer as good as Pirog, hardly anyone outside of our circles has heard of him. McCallum was underappreciated by plenty.

And Patterson would've been a light-heavy today, so I'd include him with that caveat: i.e. he was amazing for someone who could make 175.

How would he have got on against GGG? Couldn't pick it myself.

Blimey, they fought twice in a year and in that time Foreman went from 15-0 to 27-0... 12 fights! True throwback. Was 37-0 when he fought for a title (in 3.5 years) wish Dubois was that regular would learn a lot more but TV etc

I've always thought it poor that some fighters don't box more , i would have thought 5 or 6 times a year should be possible with no injuries

60:40 in favour of Golovkin's my feeling, but Pirog had every chance to win by MD or even UD. Best middles of their generation.

See your man has picked up another successful defence. He must love fighting in Japan!👍 I imagine he gets paid well as the away fighter.

When people think of the best British heavyweights ever I don’t think many think of Gary Mason. I reckon the bloke could hang and not be completely outclassed by any British heavyweight through history.

Good call.

Mason was a decent operator and would have been a handful for any British Heavyweight champion I can think of.

In fact, there's arguably only handful, if that, who I would have picked over him domestically.

Clinton Woods had a right solid career. Big wins, hard fought wins, lost to the best but always gave it a go. Won a stack of respected titles.

Casimero too I feel is one who has accomplished a lot more when you actually look at his record than you would've thought
