Okay gents, it's that time old ritual of breakout fighters. Who are your picks?

Larry Okolie to break through in the world scene

Jaron Ennis I think if pushed can do the same, kid's talent is serious and they don't need to play the 'oh but he's just a baby' card. They should push this kid like Teo Lopez is being pushed.

George Kambosos Jr.
I think he beats Selby, and in doing so, announces himself on the world stage. He has big backing, with support. So it's not just me ( a fan) that thinks so.

Dubois looks like the best of the younger heavyweight prospects to me.

I think so too, trouble is opponents are wanting silly money to fight him, which at this stage probably isn’t available

Well, Hughie Fury has already had a lot of breakouts on his back, could have another in 2020 as well :maybe:

Ryan Garcia... he’s fighting in February, most likely will meet Jorge Linares in May as has been spoken about, then he will possibly get a title fight near the end of the year if he keeps winning in good fashion.

Vergil Ortiz and Israil Madrimov.

What about Joshua Buatsi in light heavy and Alexey Egorov in cruiser? That are my thoughts :box:

I am also hoping that Jarett Hurd bounce back to the top of light middleweight avenging Williams loss or defeating Charlo

Beating Selby doesn't really do anything on the world level. Selby is similar level to Bey he just beat so beating Selby has no impact on the division.

Selby is #6 boxrec, and a win against him would put George #1 with the IBF and WBO. And probably top #5 if he decides to register with the WBC. As for boxrec- I would guess top #7-#9. If that isn't putting himself on the world stage, what is :maybe:

My comment is more he's not really world level at 35 nether is Selby regardless of ranking is essentially my point. But good for him getting his shot and getting his ass handed to him when he does get his shot. :TU:

Oh yeah, your 100% correct. Lopez and Loma will make mince meat out of poor George. My fandom aside, I'm also a realist.
But going back to the thread topic- George Kambosos Jr will break out onto the world stage this year- only to be stretchered off it

I guess the question is winning a 50/50 fight and then getting stopped in his step up a "breakout" year.

:shame: Oh no, your not breaking my grip on George's nutsack my friend. Even in defeat, George is gutsy enough to win respect. Lose to Loma? No big deal. Lose badly to Lopez, well, yeah. Not the best.

That depends on which fights can be made.

Vergil Ortiz jr could be a special talent.

Ryan Garcia has a chance to break out, he just needs a big fight with a big purse.

At Heavyweight Hrgovic is the real deal, but will he get a big fight in 2020? I dunno.
