Jack Johnson with the winnings of his fight over Philadelphia Jack O' Brian purchased a Chalmer Detoit Roustabout
but demolished it as Grosse Point near Detroit Michigan trying to break Barney Oldfield's speed record,so he bought another one.
in early 1910 Johnson purchased an American Simplex
so that he could race it on the West Coast whilst training for the fight with Jim J. Jeffries.
