Jerry certainly deserved another meaningful opportunity after getting robbed against Jermaine Franklin, but I don't think this will work out well for him.

I'd like to see Franklin in a meaningful fight soon just so his unbeaten record can go. Of course everybody already knows it's inevitable, but it could still do somebody some good.

Maybe it could be the one more win Kownacki needs to get in the Wilder sweepstakes or whatever.

After a seven or eight month layoff, I'll give Parker a pass on this fight. But he better have a significant opponent the next time out.

To be perfectly honest if Joseph Parker never had another significant fight I wouldn't really care. He's kinda bland to me. Good fighter, and all, but just kinda...meh.

I mean he will inevitably have more significant fights, but I won't miss 'em if he doesn't.

X2
It is his longest layoff as a pro.
Parker is one of those guys who needs to stay busy. I would be concerned if he went out next and fought Usyk. Not because I want either to win- I don't really care- but Parker Vs Usyk has the potential to be a really good fight and I prefer that both guys come in at their best.

Higgins said last week it wouldn’t be huge name - it was a get out and active before big fight in the summer.

Should be Jerry and then Usyk going by current rankings, though I hear Hearn wants Chis to fight Usyk for the WBO

March for Del/Uysk if it happens - late Feb almost too late now. That keeps belt within Matchroom regardless.

Parker was the KO king early in his career but is now one of the most durable heavies out there.

he needs a nice quick KO here

Forrest is actually ok at his level...but Parker should be able to stop him inside 6.

Parker was facing tomato cans at the early stages of his career. Of course, he was a KO king then. He was back to KO streak after he had been forced to leave the top level after the losses. He'll KO Forrest too.

Fu.ck this is weak. wasnt expecting a superstar but was expecting boxrec top 40ish. Only hope is if he gets a quick KO they put him out again very soon after. This should be looked at as hard sparing in a 12 week camp for someone better.

If eddie has put him into this fight so he is booked to try make usyk vs chis for the wbo then that is strait fu.cking parker over. that being said, if parker had a minimum payday in his contract he has got some easy cash out of him here.

It’s a pretty disappointing opponent but nevertheless I wasn’t expecting anyone good in less than two months notice.

Apparently Robert Helenius was offered the fight according to BS. So there’s still hope it’s at least around that level.

Parker need to fight at least 3-4 times this year. If he can’t keep active then I believe he’ll slip down the rankings and soon enough be forgotten in that top mix.

Hopefully he fights Usyk in June-July for the WBO. Would much prefer that match up than Chisora.

I like to think Jerry Forrest's boxrec photo was taken just after being told they'd matched him with Parker...

Parker and his team are waiting on Usyk to decide which path he is going down.
Eddie wants Usyk v Chisora on his April card with Matchroom also offering Usyk step aside money to let AJ fight Pulev.
Or Forces AJ to vacate WBO and Fight #2 (Parker).

"We are waiting for specifics, documents that will have to be signed," Wach told Telewizja Polska Sport in Polish, according to News Hub.

"I will sign, send back and you will probably see me at the end of February with Parker. It would definitely be an interesting fight. Parker is fast and dynamic, but somehow I will have to compensate. I watched many Parker duels. I saw him boxing. During training and sparring it did not differ."

Wach, 40, is currently training in Karpacz, southern Poland.

"I will have four weeks of sparring. I think it's enough time to prepare properly," Wach said.
