Its Christmas mate, don't depress me furthur with our boxing coverage haha!!

Its really about time the UK was on board with American Pay Per View fights etc. The likes of Australia get great coverage of American Boxing, and in this day and age of digital TV its about time HBO and Showtime etc worked with Sky etc to get a channel on digital TV in the UK on a monthly payment and, or Pay Per View.

I'd love a HBO expansion onto the Sky platform. Think of all the quality programming on the one channel, top boxing, sopranos, six feet under, deadwood, carnivale and a bunch of others.

We have a Wrestling Channel why can't we have a fight channel? They can show UFC, K1 and Pride as well if they need more diverse audiences for it.

Doubt there is the demand for it - the viewing figures for Sky boxing are not great and I doubt its a viable option financially.

Why not move to the US? Cheaper fuel, less taxes, boxing galore....

That and the fact that everybody's now amazingly paranoid. I swear I couldn't even reach into my pocket without someone else reaching toward theirs, and everyone else eyeing up potential cover.

The women are well fit over there if you stick to the city. I had the chance to move and work over there about 4 years ago (Chicago) and didnt go through with it biggest mistake I ever made! Imagine all the live fights I have missed argh.

Yeah, I do believe eventually more and more US channels will be on their way to the UK in the digital age. They may be pay channels, but it would be great.

Can't see it happening for a while, but maybe 5-10 years down the line.

Personally I think Sky have dished up too many meaningless mights in the last couple of years and consequently ratings have suffered so they're scaling down.

Really Ringside should be there to build up and coming talent up and show interesting stuff from around the world, but it didn't seem to do this on the rare occasions I saw it last year.

And PPV cards don't help either. I've got a few mates who are casual boxing fans and none could be arsed to watch PPV stuff. In fact the only fight this year that floated their boats was Barrera-Morales III.

It's a shite state of affairs really, and one which Sky has more than contributed too. I suppose the solution is to make boxing more popular and 'mainstream' again, and for that to happen good fighters need good match ups and exposure, which in turn means taking less money in the short term to get a better long term deal by either trying to convince terrestrial TV to show boxing or having less lucrative cards on Sky on a different night of the week (ie one without football).

Well we do get the NASN pay channel on Sky which shows loads of US sport but hasn't branched out into Boxing yet. Hopefully they will do so soon, please.

I hear that Nicky Cook vs. Dazzo Williams is being shown on Bravo, be interesting to see who they have as a commentary team and if this is a move forward that we have been looking for.

When do Bravo show boxing? I've never noticed any on...

They show classic fights and the occasional delayed fight (Tyson/Williams) in the evenings. I usually catch thm on a Friday or Saturday night after I've been on the beers.

Sky should bring back Boxing Gold - that was fuckin brilliant. And it wouldnt cost them anything as they own the rights to the fights they show.... instead of all that windsailing and shit like that they fill the sports schedules with....

Thankfully I don't live at home anymore so I won't be watching most of the mismatches on Sky. I'll only watch the big fights from now on. It's ridiculous watching someone like Macrinelli blast a no hoper out in 1 round every time then Calzaghe and Hatton fights leave a lot to be desired too. joke.

Hang on a minute! Is Macarinelli really fighting Rich LaMontagane? A bastardin 35 year old. Another old man for Macca to beat up. Remember back when Haye fought Thompson? Macca came out and badmouthed Haye saying he only fights old men. This guy can be serious. Does Frank advise these guys how to act on the media or something?
