BJS and Charlo! Let's see how they will respond to this challenge of Andrade. It's obvious that Andrade vs Saunders is the easy fight to make but then again Charlo needs to step up somehow to the competition too.

Andrade-Saunders is easy to make, but the Brit is near the front of both queues to face Canelo and Smith. So Billy Joe might feel that he has bigger fish to fry if Matchroom doesn’t offer him a big payday to face Andrade.

The Charlo bout is harder to make, ‘cause it’s a PBC versus DAZN situation. Also, Jermall already has a couple of big fights in the works against the likes of Eubank Jr. and Derevianchenko.

And let’s not forget that Andrade has previously rejected a guaranteed opportunity to face Charlo.

There was also a time when Andrade openly admitted to not being ready to face Saunders yet.

So Demetrius appears to want everything on his terms, despite being on the B-side.

The problem with Andrade relates to his commercial worth and audience figures. And he himself is mostly responsible for this predicament.

Let's see if Andrade himself will accept money offered to him for one of those fights.

TBH, the purses would be 5x's now than it would have been then.

He is not going to fight Jermell Charlo anyway, so that's irrelevant. He had a guarnteed shot and a career high payday at the time, but he opted to fight Jack Culcay and go inactive instead. He rejected Korobov for the WBO too, bizarrely after petitioning the WBO to make the fight, and hell at this point even Matt would be one of his best opponents. Just be careful before thinking guys are ducking Andrade rather than him being weird with his own career decisions

No doubt that Callum Smith is a more productive fight for BJS in UK and that Charlo could fight Eubank Jr but at least Andrade called them out and expressed his wish to fight them. Now it's not his fault anymore.

Another good name that Andrade could fight is Jacobs. That would be a good fight. Munguia is out of the question imo b/c he's well kept for Canelo.

Jacobs and andrade would be awful. Danny is underrated in his ability to put on lame fights.

I think it would be a good fight. Jacobs is a better fighter&name than BJS or Charlo. Also Derevyanchenko is another top opponent for Andrade but with a lesser profile.

Had he taken the Charlo bout, he would have also commenced a three-fight deal with Showtime.

Andrade ducked Charlo, was stripped of his WBO world title, became inactive and ended up facing the following anonymous names for his next three bouts: Dario Fabian Pucheta, Willie Nelson and Jack Culcay.

It seems that people need a history lesson about Demetrius Andrade’s career, since they’re defending his decisions without understanding his reasoning and without appreciating his track-record, so here goes:

* There was a point in time, fairly recently, when he openly admitted to not being ready to face Billy Joe Saunders, even though the Brit had previously said he was willing to fight him (and even Andrade acknowledged this)
• He’s been very inactive throughout his career
• Allowed his WBO 154lbs title to be stripped due to inactivity (without providing any reason for his inability to fight)
• Vacated his 154lbs WBA belt without making a meaningful defence
• Rejected fights against Matt Korobov, Erislandy Lara and Jermell Charlo, despite one or two of them accompanied with career-high payday offers
• Turned down a three-fight deal with Showtime
• There is no big payday opportunity currently on the horizon for him to consider. All of his big-name rivals have far bigger fish to fry

Demetrius Andrade has made several monumentally stupid career-related decisions and no one can possibly pretend otherwise!

Not saying at all it was a good career decision. The only point I’m making is, that Andrade and Charlo make MUCH more NOW that they would have back then. That’s it. Which is true.

Andrade was supposed to fight Jermell, not Jermall. He ain't gonna fight Jermell now so it's irrelevant what they'd make now. It would've been his career high and easily his best win. Andrade preferred to fight Jack Culcay,. I also really doubt Andrade rejected Charlo because of some long term plan to fight him for more money

The same guy petitioned to fight Korobov for a title, got the fight, then rejected it

He's made bizarre decisions , is one of the most boring champions to watch in the sport, and deserves no sympathy. Rather fitting that his single fan here is also a rampant Ortiz excuse maker

Andrade previously rejected lots of career opportunities, but now he appears to claim he deserves to receive opportunities.

For sure finding faults with minutiae is an effective debating tactic, but surely no one can endorse Andrade’s conduct?

Andrade has made plenty of weird decisions, turned down opponents that would be among his best, is awful to watch etc. He deserves little sympathy or excuses. I agree with your points and the argument ppl are making about a Charlo fight being worth more now is irrelevant really because he's not going to fight Jermell.
