Gervonta Davis the next Broner?

Never read the current scene so posting it here. Broner will probably go down as the biggest waste of talent last 10 years. Always thought he had an excellent chance of beating Loma (unpopular opinion)

That's what happens when a ho is short... She was getting taken out the back for a pimp slap

He is much better IMO, needs to step up the opposition though

Yes, he's Broner all over again.
Whether he's more talented than Broner is irrelevant really. Because he's equally as undisciplined, and he'll waste his potential. Also doing sh*t like that in public. He clearly is none too bright, and will face his shares of legal troubles too.

He's performed very well so far. Some guys can have trouble outside the ring but still deliver.

Agree, beats Loma for me actually

Based on what? Struggling with a 37 or 38 year old Gamboa with a torn ACL?

Mayweather could, but you also never saw Mayweather show up somewhere fat. I've seen Gervonta fat in between fights several times already.

There's a reason why it's been "I think he can beat Loma", "I think he can beat so and so" for years now, but he's fighting Gamboa instead.
The people managing him know better, and so do I.

He didn't struggle at all. He won every round, scored a bunch of KDs, and won by stoppage. He has delivered every time, people say he's the next Broner based on stuff that isn't boxing
Floyd was overweight for a fight too btw

What were his two knuckle dragging mates following him for? They look like they were gonna help him fill her in

His paid security guards I'm sure. Another thing he has in common with Broner. He's not smart with his money.

I'm not talking about weighing in a pound or two over the limit. I'm talking goddamn fat. Like 30 to 40 pounds more than your weight class fat.
Mayweather never looked like that. I've seen Davis look like that at fights when he's out in the audience. Mayweather still to this day don't ever show up some place looking fat, and he's retired.
As for he didn't struggle at all. He lost rounds, and it went to the 12th against a guy that was considered to be just a faded name for him to quickly dispatch going in.

He lost one round at most, big deal, who are these fighters who never ever lose rounds? Very few if any
Again, as far as what he's been doing in the ring, there is really no letdown so far. The whole Broner comparison is superficial, both black trouble makers around the same weight, but Davis is simply a better fighter and has been delivering

Just watch. Get back to me in 5 years when his career looks eerily similar to Broner's by then.
Mark it down if you want to. Feb, 3, 2025. Let's discuss the Davis/Broner connection again.
In the meantime I'll leave you with this. I don't think he'd defeat Richard Commey.

Broner never lost as a Lightweight or Jr. Lightweight either.

I agree with you on that. Davis hasn't got a gift yet, but he will somewhere along the way.
For the record I agree that Davis has more talent and potential than Broner, I just think that like Broner he won't live up to his potential, and he will underachieve because he doesn't know how to carry himself like a Professional.
I'm sure this is the story for many a fighter who was capable of more, it just gets zoomed in on with guys who are constantly drawing attention to themselves being jackoffs.

I thought he looked like a poor mans Zab Judah in the Gamboa fight.

Floyd is a prick but deffo looked after himself and put the work in. Don't think he even drinks does he?

And Judah gets compared to Broner a lot too.

Couldn't say, but if he does drink it must not be much. I'm sure he's had a few nights out on the town in his lifetime where he's tipped back a few, but I doubt he ever made it a regular thing.

He says he doesn’t and I don’t think I’ve seen any reports of him out boozing etc.

If you live the life and not get hit like Mayweather and Hopkins you go on and on, Ricky Hatton was one who got away with it but eventually caught up with him.

You sorta sum up the toll the lack of discipline outside the ring takes on you perfectly with this post.
Hopkins successful well into his late 40's, disciplined as all hell outside the ring.
Mayweather, made as much money with his Boxing career as basically anybody ever. Disciplined as all hell outside the ring.
Ricky on the other hand who loved his beer and fried food, is only in his early 40's now, and has been retired for 8 years, and hasn't won a fight in over 11.
Discipline in your training is crucial to achieving true greatness, and getting the most out of your body.
