Me neither. All Brit fights in the US would make squat compared with in the UK. I'm surprised to see such 'dissing' of UK fight fans. Eddie's Saudi expedition and now Fury saying this. I don't get it. Not like we don't get it in the states with 79.99 PPV's that suck balls.

Boxing was booming here for a long time but it all feels a bit empty now tbh. The top fighters will go wherever the money is.

Then considering one of the most financially successful fights in UK boxing history AJ Vs Klitschko only brought in about an estimated £8m in total gate revenue, the PPV sales offset any potential ticket sales made by fighting in the UK. I can't really see Fury selling out Wembley or the Millenium Stadium either.

Ever since he signed with Top Rank/ESPN this was always on the cards, the potential to earn in the US is far too big a draw, unless you can sell out stadia (like Wlad or AJ) you'll never earn that kind of money. That's why AJ tried to debut in the US, that's also why he gave Saudi Arabia a go. The UK public just can't afford or don't want to afford to pay the same costs, AJ V Klitschko did roughly 1.5m buys in the UK, whereas FMJ did nearly half that many US PPV buys fighting Berto and did 2.5m US buys fighting ODLH before even mentioning the Pacquiao fight. After his WWE appearance and all the groundwork going into the rematch, I can't see the second Fury V Wilder fight doing less than 500,000 US views (which at the rumoured $75-$95 cost) offsetting any possible gain Fury could make returning to the UK.

It's unfortunate but we're doomed to stay up to 3/4am if we want to see the UK's best mixing it with the US' finest.

I'm no Fury fan & really dont like the guy at all, but you make a valid point. There are numerous global boxing stars who fight almost exclusively in the US these days and they dont get criticized for it: Loma, GGG, Canelo, Pacquiao, Kovalev, etc.

We dont have to go back too far to find Fury's fellow Brits who did the same thing. Lennox Lewis fought 14 of his last 16 bouts in the US and only had 1 fight in the UK in his last 9 years as a pro. RIcky Hatton likewise had 6 of his last 8 fights in the US and Naz had 3 of his last 5 bouts here in the US as well.

And none of the above had the lure of the WWE or UFC that Fury may eventually pursue.

Lennox wasn't adored by the UK like Fury was. I can't blame him for fighting predominantly in the US.
