What does everybody think of this whole situation?

Very bad thing.
Nothing for the average amateur boxer to gain.

Only alot to lose for the proffesional boxer.

Its plainly obvious that Warren is only pushing this in order to sign Khan when he turns pro. There was no mention of this from him previously.

I think Frank has the best interests of the sport at heart myself.

And that Wayne Rooney will be signing for Dunfermline in the New Year.

What are the positives been put forward for this pro/amateur then?

Now that amateurs are on the shows, I wonder if the tickets will be cheaper?

What if there is a big show the same night as the ABA`s or some other amateur event.
The promoters are only going to use top amateurs for sure so if the boxer gets asked to fight in a tournament or a big televised show what will he choose?

Yeah right, a top amateur thinking of changing codes, receive some travelling expenses for the pro show……hard decision…..and how do they sell the ABA or any other tournament then??

And what about the fighters doing the under cards, why pay a pro for a four rounder when a amateur will be half price….at most.

As I said earlier I doubt Warren has thought beyond doing all he can to get his clutches into Khan.

Cheap labour and less work for the professionals. :(

Loads better for small hall shows i can tell ya! 20 quid a ticket for 12 fights sells better than 20 quid for 4-5 fights

As long as it does not put Pro fighters out of work I think it could be good for both codes of the game.

And how many of those fights will be pro??

Go to almost any amateur show and you`ll get 6-10fights for a fiver, so thats better value than your 12fights for £20 if thats what your after.

It may increase fight fans interest in the Amateur code and increase attendance at amateur shows maybe?

Who is going to pay £20 quid to watch amateur when they can watch more amateur fights for far less on a club show.

And won`t the top amateurs get persuaded to fight on a big pro show given the chance rather than an amateur event?

Or will the pro shows stage the big amateur internationals or national championships in the future, then even more bottom of the bill pro`s will lose work.

I just can`t see what is to gain for the average amateur.

The French seem to make it work from what I can tell...

Its just a way of allegedly cashing in on Amir Khan, without Khan actually turning professionak.
