I think there used to be a photograph on-line of Jack Johnson and Monte Munn where Johnson was training him in the 1920's.
I was gathering info for a thread on the "PROTEGES OF JACK JOHNSON" but I misplaced all the info I gathered somewhere.
Jack Johnson helped train Abe Simon (at least for his fight with Joe Louis).
Jack Johnson also had been a sparring partner to Luis Firpo when Firpo was preparing to fight Jack Dempsey.

Supposedly Johnson toyed with Firpo and Tex Rickard made sure Johnson didn't spar with him again. Of course there are always stories like this from sparring sessions; who knows what the truth is.

He had a another "protege: named Walter Monahan. He was sparring partner of Johnson and Johnson tried to give him a push while he was champion. Apparently, he was not as good as Johnson thought.
