The EA Fight Night games could go to the cards fairly frequently, as long as you turned the difficulty up to maximum. Really hope they make another one soon, been waaay too long.

The fight night games were awesome, not sure that we will see another one any time soon though.

EA are more focused on UFC games at the moment.

World Championship Boxing Manager on the Amiga. You could edit everyone’s name, too. I changed them to all the lads at my school and was fuming when a little dickhead beat me on points. I never spoke to him again.

 sensational.

Really hope a new Fight Night game gets sorted, nearly ten years since Champion (still a good game).

Classless way to celebrate there. His opponent is lay on the canvas.

Could've checked he was alright first. Would've been the gentlemanly thing to do. :TU:

I remember that game, also 4d Sports Boxing which had strangely shaped fighters with triangular heads. Cutting edge back in the day 😂

Same team that made FN make the UFC games, which are unreal, so hopefully they do boxing again soon

On Fight Night Round 4 due to the less than perfect controls, and difficulty of the AI I frequently go the distance whether I like it or not, and have had some genuine close call decision wins (and losses)

On Fight Night Round 2 and Fight Night Champion I did get to a point of being good enough that I basically wouldn't go the distance unless I was trying to carry my opponent the majority of the time, but I sometimes would try to for the sake of the character I'm playing as.

As for Kickboxing.

K-1 World Grand Prix guys will frequently last the distance with you in spite of your best efforts sometimes. Especially when you're not real great at the game yet.

I hope so too, they just need EA to give them the go ahead.

I'm not holding my breath, though.

EA already ruined Mass Effect and Battlefront, don't see any reason why they shouldn't do the same to Fight Night.

I think I read somewhere they just haven't had the time. Small team. Takes a lot of time to develop these games!

Which was the Fight Night game with the ridiculous parrying that would leave you frozen for like 5 seconds, basically it just turned into everyone doing that to each other

KO Kings was better than FN

Street Fighter II was the best though.

Ya, I have found myself trying to carry opponents too, cause sometimes I just wanna win a decision for variance, or because I'm trying to play the 'boxer'. So many games it seems like it's a f@cking chore to go the distance though.

Anyone play HBO Boxing or that Rocky boxing game? The HBO game was notable for me for being innovative with facial damage (regular cuts and cut stoppages) and actually having ref stoppages if you pounded the guy but he didn't get counted out. Also had a KD system that wasn't just largely based on getting your guys bar to 0

Combine that with a game where the jab matters and you can regularly go the distance w/o trying to and i'm jizzed

I was amazing at the Rocky game on the original Xbox. My favourite matchup was me being the Rocky statue, fighting against the computer as 80 year old Mickey. Fvcking brutal beatdowns on the poor old geezer

This thread has actually brought back a long forgotten memory of playing Knockout Kings on the PS1. I was playing as Naz (can’t remember if he was really in the game or if he was a custom character I created) and decided to carry my opponent for the full 12 rounds. I put on a proper masterclass and had him staggering around the ring nearly every time I landed, but refused to follow it up as wanted to get a dominant points win. My opponent probably landed about 5 punches throughout the first 11 rounds.

And then, we came out for the 12th and final round, I got hit with a jab in the first 10 seconds and the referee stopped the fight due to a sudden cut saying I couldn’t continue, so I fvcking lost. Unbelievable.

I need to check out that HBO Boxing game one of these days. I played Rocky not too long ago. I heard the 2nd Rocky game was better, but I've never played it.
