but us fans will pay more than double at $70 - $80

The American ppv market has been established for decades and they know the market can bear those sorts of prices.

If any British promoter thought they could charge those kind of prices here they'd do it in a second.

I feel sorry for my American cousins having to pay that sort of money.

I stopped buying PPV because of David Haye and Audley Harrison's dance routine and I think that was £10 at the time.

If I was American, I'd have sent Audley Harrison a bill.

LOL! It's just so infuriating. Years ago I bought all the big PPV's. Now I rarely do it. Prices started at 19.99 and I bought through 59.99. AFter that, I just couldn't do it unless I had a few lads come in with me. NOw there are hardly any boxing fans in my circles in the US and $80.00 is just too steep to watch a fight on the telly by myself. Especially with the poor undercards like this Saturday. I'd rather pay a few hundred and go watch a card live in NYC.

What is the PPV cost in France (if they even offer it)?

In this border town I used to go to my Mexican boxing buddies houses & chip in $5-10 to watch the PPVs. Havent had to do that since Mayweather-Pacquiao because now there are several clubs around that show PPVs with no cover charge. They usually make the $$$ on food & beverage sold to the larger-than-normal audience.

I’m with you....I only get the PPVs anymore if I can convince 3 or 4 other guys to come over and split it with me....and that gets harder and harder.

Sometimes now, I go by myself to the movie theater where I can get in for 20 dollars.

$80 is just crazy, amazing they sell any.

The reason why PPV’s are so expensive in the US is mainly due to the amount of people that watch these events per household and also because of the prices being traditionally high.

• Wilder-Fury II (2020) = $69.99 (std. definition)
• Holyfield-Foreman (1991) = $68.09 (adjusted for inflation based on the original $35.95 price, when there was no HD)

PPV’s are also a product that becomes part of a group activity in the US, whereby it’s not uncommon for anywhere between six to ten people per household to watch an event at any given point in time.

The culture is different in the UK, mainly due to unsociable hours US PPV events are televised, so fewer people get together to watch them.

Also, the UK market is much more hostile when dealing with price rises, hence the reason why UK PPV’s have been entrenched at £20 for such a long time.

The price hike for the Joshua-Ruiz Jr. rematch caused an uproar when Sky Box Office announced the cost for this event being £24.95.

Any Brits spending 150 pounds a month for cable and internet? I'd guess we pay more for all TV. The funny thing is canelo could sell more $100 ppvs in TV than subscriptions on dazn for $100 a year. Boxing is an afterthought here.

What about the disparity between the UK US and New Zealand, I don't hear anyone asking?

I'm almost sick to my stomach that I have to pay £19.63 or $25.53 US to watch this fight live and in HD. Even worse, I'm getting the whole show, which appears to go on for about 6 hours.
Should I phone Sky New Zealand and ask to pay more?

I mean, the guilt I have to bear is overwhelming.

they have it on canal plus for subscribers ie like sky sports package but I cant see how its priced so it may actually be included .

It'll be on at like 5am over here so pubs are shut lol. Some Casino's here show the fights and they're open all night.

Fathom Events is great!! Just type in your zip code & it gives you the movie theaters closest to you. That's where I saw Wilder-Fury I. Some of the theaters have a better price than others but it ranges from $12-25 per ticket. Some of the venues have plush recliner seats.

It's bollocks what they want for a ppv here, no one will buy it.

They'll drop into the can't see category and fade away until the big one unless they open it up,

I spend 44 pounds a month for internet and regular tv combined, and got them to throw in 3 sports channels for free. Started at 40 but they jacked up the price. If I wanted all the channels plus Netflix plus amazon prime plus a couple others I would guess it only would be about 30-40 more.
