Ruiz Jr Vs Ortiz (Rumour via ESPN)

Although it's a rumour, ESPN is a pretty credible source in boxing so let's discuss.
I imagine this is why Ruiz didn't take the Whyte fight. You'd think that PBC would want Ortiz to win to make AJ look bad but I'm not sure he has enough to outpoint or knockout Ruiz (should Ruiz lose some weight).

Heard the rumors. Would love to see this fight. But...only if Ruiz comes in some sort of decent shape.

If he couldn’t be arsed to train for the AJ rematch I can’t see him ever being in shape again, he’s got lottery money now.

Same mate. His heart isn't in it now. Might as well just park his fat hole and eat Snickers...

It'll be like the 80s all over again.
Matchup between two highly skilled fat guys who might possibly be borderline great if they took the game more seriously.
To be fair to them, Ruiz has been the champ despite his ample girth and Ortiz was in the best shape I've ever seen him last time out, although that didn't help him ultimately.
If they both take this bout seriously and get themselves into good shape, it could be a purists dream.

Yup, can’t even see him showing up for a million or two to be honest.

Good fight. Hopefully the winner gets AJ. Wilder and Fury will have #3 in the meantime.

Luis Ortiz is ranked 4th by both the WBC & WBA.
Andy Ruiz Jr. is rated 5th by the WBC, WBA & IBF, as well as 4th by the WBO.
Wilder & Fury are tied up facing each other for the next couple of bouts.
AJ is likely to face Pulev and then Usyk next.
And somebody will be forced to grant Dillian Whyte a well-deserved and well-overdue title shot at some point in the not too distant future.
So the winner of the rumoured Ortiz-Ruiz Jr. bout will likely receive a shot at the world title sometime during the second half of 2021.
I really do hope that Ruiz Jr. beats Ortiz, because otherwise we eventually may end up seeing a third bout between Wilder and the “fearsome” ‘King Kong’ Cuban, which no one wants to see (assuming ‘The Bronze Bomber’ retains his world title this weekend).
If the Mexican wins, he’ll definitely be given the opportunity to face AJ for a third time.

I hope it gets made. But when it comes to any match up anymore. I wont believe it until they are in the ring together.

And hopefully if Ortiz won he wouldn't feebly reject an AJ fight again
'Any time, any place, any money for AJ!'
Offer made
'Well, uh, um, uh......n....no'
Delusional Ortiz bois: Erveryone be ducking Luis! And Pedvetkin and Whyte and Miller are dirty PED cheats!

AJ will not get near Ruiz, Hearn will not let him-)
AJ will KO punchless guys in the near future (Pulev, Usik)...and maybe, in 3-4 years from now, Wilder...when aged enough-(((

Very true. I actually think Ortiz will beat Ruiz though, IF they fight. Good match-up.

Hopefully it takes place. A great bout, very unpredictable. Ortiz seems to be a better boxer overall, but Ruiz will be a big danger for him for all the distance with his superior stamina.

I wonder if Ortiz would b!tch out again and reject another AJ offer if he got another, maybe pop some more PEDs to increase his confidence

Jennings is Ort's best win, a good destructive win like Pov destroying Perez, who do we rank as his second best btw? Thompson was good at a point but he'd already been 11-1'd by Takam a few years earlier and was on his last legs, retiring right after at 46(?). Scott is tricky but Ort wasn't so hot.
Would beating Andy rank ahead of Jennings or would it be 2nd?
