He is in jail and not up parole for a few years. Even when he gets out I assume the USA will deporte him back to Nigeria.
The guy had plenty of talent but obviously has many mental issues, even his old trainer used to carry a gun to protect himself when training Ike.
I believe Ike was sent to jail for various reasons including sexual assault and false imprisonment of a call girl he had called to his hotel room.
The last picture I saw of Ike he looked about 280lbs. I meaningfull comeback is unlikely for this troubled soul I imagine.

This is probably the pic you're talking about. It'll be a long way back from that if he ever gets out whilst still in his 30s.

He was hyped to be THE next dominant heavy.

You could have applied that exact same hype to Tua though right?
He was/is/could be (at a stretch) very talented, but he still had things to prove

How did he get so fat? American prisons must really give you some decent meal portions...not like the stingy gits over here

Not that I have spent any long stretches in prison, but I have been in county jail over the years, mostly drunk in public charges when I was younger and the food in county jail sucks! Not sure about peniteniary food, but a lot of prisoners do nothing but lay and sit on their ass for the time they are incarcerated!

Sure, I've been in county...but a lot of people have been in jail for drunk in public, no big deal! Quote sounds like something Tyson would say!

What do you think about Tyson's last fight? After I watched it I was thinking he may have taken a dive. He went down to easy for tyson and the knee injury is ?. He wouldn't talk about it to the press and seeing him his knee looked ok. What is your thoughts on that one?

I think Tyson looked damn good for three rounds, better than he has looked in several years, but I don't think he trained properly expecting to knock Williams out early and when he didn't, he just had no energy left. Tyson didn't look hurt to me while he was taking the count, although he should have with the bombs that Williams landed in the fourth round, but he did look exhausted! I think it was legit though! As to my comment about jail not being a big deal, if any kids read it, pay no attention to that remark because it isn't cool and it isn't fun!

Tyson for sure put up a good fight. Williams though went down in the 8th in his last fight. Tyson when he went down it looked like he just sat down and didn't want to get back up. Tyson's jail time he pulled, was this where he learned to box? I'm not a big Tyson fan, but in his early years he was a heck of a boxer.
*I feel Tyson could have put up a better fight* Tyson body looked in much better condition than Williams, to be honest Williams just looked like he had one to many inches to pinch. It really was suprising that Williams had KO w/Tyson.
Being a big Ali fan, glad to be able to see a re-play of the 71 fight.

Ali v. Blin in the 7th Ali wins......1971, good fight. The ring was much smaller then than it is now.

Exactly what smart tones are you disillusional about, it was a question? You have been on this site for what, less than a month and the only thing that you have contributed is the same question over and over! I've been an editor here since the site started and have contributed more to the site about boxing than you ever will, so don't get smart with me, or I'll have your ass thrown off the board!

>>>Hey everyone does this rude obnoxious person talk to everyone like this?<<<
No, just to people that are completely full of dodo (language cleaned up for the kids)
>>>>I am amazed that the web master of this site allows a so called editor to talk to boxing fans in such a manner as he has to me today.<<<
Obviously your ears are too feminine for the language in the boxing commuity, mine is quite conservative compared to others, might I suggest a Ballet message board?
>>>Maybe the web master/owner of the site could tell me exactly why this Barry person has all of the sudden singled me out for abusive words. Have me thrown off the board for what Barry?<<<
One, for trying to stir up things as you did with the last post that I responded to, I just asked don’t you watch boxing with your son because one of your first posts was asking about if anyone might know any good memorabilia dealers on the net, which I gracisouly gave you two good links! I always try to be helpful to people that are serious about boxing, but ever since I answered that request you have followed me, not the other way around!

http://www.boxrec.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ht=#214198
http://www.boxrec.com/phpBB2/viewtopic. ... ht=#214271
If it is such an important question why did not post it in every post and not just in the posts that I responded to? And then after I stated it sounded like something Tyson would say, you said thanks for clearing it up for you, but you immediately posted another thread asking the same question. It seems that you posted that question only in posts that I had just written in, so who’s following who? Am I supposed to know something about the quote?
>>>It seems you are the one using abusive language on a thread that children can access, maybe the owner of this site should block your ISP from logging on this site. Sure you have contibuted your thoughts & opinions more than I have, due I have only been a member (12-17-04).<<<
You see, you don’t even know what the site really is, it is a boxing records site, the forum is just extra, but you can ask the owner of the site how much I have contributed, his name is John Sheppard and you can reach him through the moderators link at the top of the Boxers of the Past forum, or you can contact the other mediator Ric Kilmer, also from the same locality!
>>>Barry how about you stop following me across the board and just try to ignore my post, of course you are the smartest man in the world, right? Someone other than editor Barry please tell me how I might be able to contact the owner of this board to report this abuse on a public thread!!!!<<<
How bout you stop following me, I have no interest in what you have to say, and sorry, but I’ve already told you how to contact the owner and moderator, anyone else I can direct you to, please let me know.
>>>MY ONLY INTEREST HERE IS BOXING..........<<<
Then keep the conversation on boxing, I did not deviate from boxing until you called me out and believe me, you will just make yourself look stupid if you try to one up me. If you think that I was offensive, you should read some of the other posts, arguments, etc, by others than me, no on second thought you better not, you are much too sensitive to hear such things!

Hey I'm all for dropping it, and I'm all for someone trying to learn about boxing and boxing history as I try to advocate it very much, which just about any person on this board can tell you!
