Will Fury retire soon?

TF has said a few times now that he will retire after fighting AJ, so maybe the rematch with DW and then fight AJ and quit. I then saw his dad on the news earlier today saying he wants him to retire now as he has achieved everything. I think as soon as anyone talks about retiring it must be in their head to do it.

I think the AJ fight has to happen before he retires. At the moment there is still people debating who’s the best. If fury beats AJ there is no doubt he’s the best of his era

Probably if he fights and beats AJ. There's nothing really left for him after that. Maybe he could get his own Jerry Springer style talk show :yay:

Looks like Wilder will activate the rematch clause so I guess Tyson will have to fight him again.
If Fury beats Wilder (for the 3rd time !) I think he would fight AJ and then retire a multi millionaire.

Hopefully he won't. After he handles AJ, it will be intertesting to see his fight vs Usyk and then how he gives lessons to upcoming contenders like Dubois, Joyce, Ajagba, etc.

I think he'll retire after AJ. I think he'll have Wilder III late this year an easyish defence against someone like Kowanacki and then AJ.

I hope not though. He's in his prime. He could get a pretty good legacy if he clears out AJ, Usyk Joyce, Dubois.

WBC will probably make him fight Whyte after Wilder rematch. Can't see AJ fight happening this year...

Not sure mate. It's a bit of a fuckin mess aint it! There was talk of Whyte having to wait till next year as well. Can see Whyte losing the plot with Hearn and eventually getting his way. I wouldn't want to argue with him that's for sure

He's got 2 fights left on his contract, so he'll see them out for sure. After that, who knows.

He said he wants to retire after his Top Rank contract is up (2 more fights)

People saying if he beats AJ, he should then retire, he has done it all.

Thing is, Wlad was in that position a few times, but he carried on. He beat every challenger that came his way. Took many 0’s.

It’s good retiring when you feel like you’ve accomplished all you have, but I would like to see fights like Fury vs. Whyte/Parker/Ortiz/Kownacki and some of the other upcomers.

I can see Fury keeping his word on that or maybe a couple more fights. He loves living life and has great potential for great success outside of boxing.

I think he'll beat wilder again and fight Josh. I expect after that he'll sit out til a behometh comeback in his early 40s.

If Fury beats Wilder again in the 3rd fight and the unification against AJ happens then, presumably, there would be a rematch clause in that contract. If Fury won both those fights I’m fairly sure he would retire afterwards because, really, there wouldn’t be any other bigger fights out there for him and I would question his motivation to continue...

Fury was on This Morning earlier today with his wife and again reiterated that he will fight twice more, Wilder then AJ and then retire.

yes it’s good to see the champ defend vs the top contenders for their belts. Better Whyte and Parker than Schwartz and Wallin (although that produced plenty of drama).

But, if he leaves the sport with all the big wins, the ones that matter like Wlad, Wilder and Joshua, I could not fault him.

Already he’s done way more than I expected.

It's the Vinny Maddalone rematch I am most bothered about.

I was more worried about his answer about what to do after boxing. Hes still not sure. His body can still go through fitness in hisnhobby but he needs something else to engage and motivate him

I still don't expect to see him box again until I see him in the ring.

So many ifs and buts.

He needs to be busy, he will struggle I think once the limelight has gone and he's not focussing on training etc...
Most fighters at the top level struggle with retirement and the lure of the fans.

I think with Fury it's the come down after achieving what he wanted so much first it was beating Klitschko now Wilder there's a sense of what now? I think he'll probably want to beat AJ but after that I don't see him fighting or at least being in shape to fight

I wouldnt be surprised to see him do movie roles. He's charismatic enough, and the success of guys like Vinnie Jones show you dont need to be a great actor to suceed. And he's a world champ, his name would get him cast in some roles alone.

I can easily see him having a decent movie career as a tough guy or villain in a crime movie for the hero to fight.
