From Boxing Social:

"Deontay Wilder has issued the following statement, confirming he will NOT be removing Mark Breland from Team Wilder:

“I’m a warrior. I feel the same way I felt on fight night. If I have to go out, I want to go out on my shield. But I understand that my corner and my team has my best interest at heart. Mark Breland is still a part of Team Wilder.”

“Our team looks forward to preparing for the rematch.”
"

I'm glad that is settled. Now do away Jay Deas and I'm good.

I'm glad to see Breland is not being fired as him as a scapegoat would have been as low as it goes. He ought to give Breland a raise.

Yes! Breland did what any trainer would and should do! Look after this guy.

Good, Breland did the right thing.

If anyone needs the sack, it's Deas, he has taught Wilder f all in over a decade.

The damage to Wilder’s relationship with his trainer might already be done.

Breland may be wondering if he’s been reinstated purely because of the pressure from the media and fight fans, with Deontay making this decision as a desperate damage limitation measure to partly save face.

If there’s little to no trust between both parties, then I can’t see the point in these guys working with each other.

I mean, wilder is deluded to charles Martin-esqe proportions. Next time, Breland will be too scared to throw the towel in and he’ll end up unconscious in hospital. If that fight carried on, wilder’s career would’ve been over. He should thank Breland

Plus Breland is the only one in camp wilder that knows anything about boxing

I would like to believe that Deontay Wilder came to his senses and realized that in the cold light of day Mark Breland was looking out for his welfare, and not that he was trying to save face, or limit damage to his reputation or whatever. I mean I know he isn't the smartest of people, and his ego has taken a pummelling, but he must know he could have got badly hurt had he been allowed to continue, surely he must.

You're right Oog!! Deas is not only incompetent as a cornerman but he brings nothing to the table as a trainer either!! :brick:

It would have been really unjust if Breland had not been reinstated.

Wilder should be paying for Breland's drinks for the rest of his life, not sacking him.

I mean referee's stop fights too. I figure the referee will have to stop it next time. Either that or Wilder just get straight knocked out, but I'm thinking ref stoppage is more likely.
