Pretty sure Joe Louis had a scheduled 20 rounder (didn't go that far) in the early 40s.

He did - it was against Abe Simon but that was the last scheduled 20 round title fight.

Archie McBride in the sixties is throbbing away in my mind...

Holyfield versus Akinwande also had dire ticket sales, even with Roberto Duran on the card. Akinwande was box office coronavirus.
