Please share any thoughts on the former cruiserweight champion. What was his top performance? How well would he compete against todays opposition?

Sadly only thing that I can think about when talking about poor Jean Marc Moreneck is hes total demolition against Wlad. Total missmatch.

That was the fight after Wlad tamed the toe wasn't it, Mormeck landed 3 punches, that's not bad is it :maybe:

I think about Virgil Hill when Mormeck‘s name comes up. I had a feeling Virgil‘s time was coming up but I wasn’t sure who would do it.

Here’s a summary of Jean Marc Mormeck’s resume:

• Two-time holder of the WBA cruiserweight title (2002 to 2007)
• Two-time holder of the WBA and The RING cruiserweight titles (2005 to 2007)
• Lineal champion (2007)
• Challenged for the unified world heavyweight championship
• Seven of his world title bouts were against five former world champions, with three of them being current/future Hall-of-Famers(Virgil Hill [twice], Wayne Braithwaite, O'Neil Bell [twice], David Haye & Wladimir Klitschko)
• Competed in nine world title bouts (eight at cruiserweight & once at heavyweight)
• Rated 17th in the WBC's list of greatest cruiserweights of all time
• Rated 8th greatest cruiserweight of all time by TalkSport
• Rated 5th greatest cruiserweight of all time by Boxing 24/7
• Rated 11th greatest cruiserweight of all time by Boxing Scene
• One of the longest reigning titlists in cruiserweight history
• Became the first unified cruiserweight champion since Evander Holyfield
• Became only the second man in history to reclaim the world cruiserweight title
• Best win: O’Neil Bell rematch, where he avenged a tough stoppage loss to capture/regain the WBC, WBA, Lineal & The RING titles

In my opinion, Jean Marc Mormeck was underrated and also unfortunate to compete during an era where the cruiserweight division was underappreciated and lacked commercially popular names that were familiar to the mainstream masses.

The diminutive 5′ 11½″ Mormeck competed during the 190lbs cruiserweight era and would likely be undersized against modern day 6′ 3″+ 200lb-ers. He’d be competitive but considered the underdog against current world titleholders.

Great fighter, if a couple of notches below HOF level. The wins over Hill, Braithwaite, and Bell were all top performances.
