does anyone have access to Courage Tshabalala's amateur record?

Sorry no, I have heard him claim a record of something like 77-1 (77KO's).

But I have never seen any proof of this.

Supposedly all of his knockouts were in the first round and the loss that he had was also a first round KO, but he was DQ'd. Larry Merchant stated that during a fight several years ago, but I've never seen an evidence that would back-up the claim.

same here fellas, i heard mention from commentators during his fight(s) of that he had a 70-1 record with 70 1st round ko's.

(70-1 or 77-1 all ko's is an amazing record either way).

how can a guy accumulate a record like that and no one ever hears of him until he's fighting on espn undercards? tyson however awesome he was during his pre-pro days couldn't touch this guy's stats.

Well it was very likely that it was nothing but fabricated as he had a very, very week chin, which would have been tested in 70+ amateur bouts, at least that's what I think!

Remember when Courage said he was going to come out of retirement to fight the looser of Butterbean-Holmes!

Well I guess he didn't want none of the 'Bean.

Courage did have one hell of a war with Darrol WIlson. That was one hell of a fight. Three knockdowns in like 4 or five rounds. Two weak-chinned bombers slugging it out.

Wilson was one kid who had lots of heart though. He'd get up and fight through a war. His chin would not always hold up, but his heart sure would.

Courage hit harder, but his recovering powers and heart were not up to par with WIlson's.

This has always been my thinking on the subject as well, like you say he does not have the best of chins. Even if he was in with very weak opponents it's still a hard statistic to believe.
