Whose your pick on this 90s superfight that never happened?

In the 90s Bowe would win Tyson for sure.

Bowe was super easy to hit, but it probably wouldn't have mattered as Tyson had stopped throwing combinations on the whole by the 90s and Bowe's heart would have been too big and he was too skilled for Tyson.

Being as the question is about them in the 90's makes it different altogether doesn't it.
For one thing Tyson was out of the ring from mid 91 to mid 95 wasn't he.
In that case I'd probably go Bowe then.

Bowe was too good on the inside and had a great chin. He'd beat the breaks off Tyson.

This would have been a great fight to watch. There would have been plenty of action. More often than not, Bowe would win this.

My first instinct would be to say that Bowe was too big for Tyson and therefore he outmuscles him over 12.
However, a prime Tyson might gotten through to Bowe and score a late round stoppage.
Certainly and interesting prospect...

If the fight happened in the 90's, Bowe by 8th round stoppage.

Post-90 Tyson can't win, Bowe wins.

87-89 Tyson maybe if it goes to distance like James Smith fight.

If both at their best Bowe beats any version of Tyson.

Yes even the mythical 80's version of him.

Like most others....if it is a 90s fight I'd would go for Bowe.
Could see it panning out a bit like Tyson-Lewis when they finally got it on in Memphis in 2002.

I think Bowe was a great disappointment . He had the tools to be an all time great. The November 13 1992 Holyfield fight he looked like an all time great in that fight. His lack of dedication and his laziness were his downfall however. Also the fights with Golota took much out of him. Yes i believe in the 1990s i would have gone with a prime Bowe to defeat an on the slide Tyson. Bowes boxing skill size and inside game would give a 1990s Tyson who got away from the basics and was not the same fighter even before Douglas defeated him would be the difference. The only long shot in the favor of Tyson would be the respect and fear of Tyson Bowe talked of when they were young men in Brownsville Brooklyn. I compare this similar to George Foreman having a great respect and being in awe of Sonny Liston.

Bowe was kept away from punchers during his career. I find it a tad odd that people would confidently pick him over a massive hitter like Tyson when he never beat any of the divisions dangerous punchers There surely exists considerable doubt as to how he responds to Tyson's power.

He was dropped and hurt by guys who are not Tyson-level punchers

Holyfield was a big puncher, dropped both of them and stopped Mike. You're useless as a poster.

Tyson clearly a far more deadly puncher shot for shot. Tyson is the only one to ever stop Holmes as a pro. The only guy to stop Berbick in his prime and he did it in just two rounds. The only guy to stop Pinklon Thomas before Thomas was shot, etc. Dropping Bowe tells us little because Bowe's resume is so unremarkable if we take out Holyfield. The second best guy he fought Golota, had him down multiple times though. And Golota isn't really renowned as a big puncher.

Holmes and Stewart both went 12 rounds with Holyfield. By your logic this demonstrates they can take Tyson's power. That's not really how things panned out though.

Bowe survives some monster shots early, which rattles Tyson confidence. By the second half of the bout Riddick is in command and stops Tyson around the 10th.

in 1990 or 1991, I'd take Tyson to win and also in 1996. (Years when both were active.) Now, If we say the Bowe of his title reign(1992-1993) against the best 90's version of Tyson I'm taking Bowe by knockout . In 1995(Both active), I like Bowe.

Bowe might be the most UNDER RATED hwt of all time. A PRIME BOWE could very well be in the top 5 hwts ever. A PRIME Tyson would have to get to Bowe early, but I think Bowe would have to much skill, jabs,power and much to big for Tyson to hurt. Bowe in stunning fashion.I think he stops Tyson.
