Foreman around the sixth around. He would methodically take apart Jack.

Would have to go with Dempsey. Foreman was too slow. He might hurt Dempsey everyone once in a while, but at this stage of his career he would not have been able to follow up on it.

Foreman went life-and-death with Alex Stewart even after the early success in the fight, clearly was awarded a win over Axel Schulz and had a dodgy dec with Savarese. At that point George was just a durable slugger, easy to be outboxed and outfought due to his sluggish state. Dempsey at his best would outfight Old George.

There is no heavyweight of a swarming or bobbing and weaving style that would have ever survived George Foreman. Look at the way he dismantled Joe Frazier.

OK let me ask hopefully a thought provoking question here. Who is the best fighter Jack Dempsey beat by decision, that went longer than 4 rds ?

I won't pick the 90s Foreman over Frazier of the early 70s.

Dempsey would beat the hell out of Foreman of the 90's. He'd get rattled by some big shots, but he'd bust up Big George, and eventually I think George stays on his stool, or his corner or the doctor sees he's had enough.

In some ways Foreman 2.0 was better than the first time around.
I would pick the peak Foreman 2.0 over any Joe Frazier... maybe even over Ali '74.

Against 1970s Foreman, yes.
Against 1990s slow motion Foreman, no.

It'd probably play out somewhat similar to Holyfield vs Foreman. Big George would hurt him on occasion, but he'd be too slow, and he'd get hammered most of the time by the younger, stronger guy.
The irony of calling Dempsey the younger guy in a conversation about Foreman is not lost on me
