Thoughts on these random ideas

1. 1-0-2 (1 fighter ahead, 2 even cards) decisions being scored a win for the 1 fighter

2. An extra round in the case of a fight scored even.. If the extra round is even too, then is it a draw

3. Odd number rounded fights (like 9 or 11---they do this in south america )

Nope. Majority rules

2. An extra round in the case of a fight scored even.. If the extra round is even too, then is it a draw
It's too tough to 'turn it back on again' for a fighter after taking a brief break to hear the scores. You have a let down after the final bell. I don't like the idea. Unless scoring is known during the one minute between all rounds, and I don't like that either.

3. Odd number rounded fights (like 9 or 11---they do this in south america )
Always wondered why they don't do that now.

Ya, I see your points, though I'd say knowing that an extra round is a possibility should keep fighters more prepared. Right now they turn it off becasue they can

Never liked the idea of an extra round,if they are spent in the last round it could be dangerous going another 3 mins.

If you had an extra round you'd need to score as you go - you can't have 10 minutes of faffing and then clear the ring and go again.

Odd rounds are fine in theory, although you'd still get judges do a 10-10 round which wouldn't mean you'd also get a result. Likewise if the boxer who won less rounds scored a knockdown you could still get a draw, so I don't think it would make much difference.

I don't mind a draw. Sometimes it's the right result.

Also :TU: to what oogiebe said (& I hope your mum's okay, bruv), but I can't be bothered doing the code to strip out his responses!

I've never minded a draw. Some things are draws. Boxing is not digital, it's analogue. No-one (apart from bookies & nerds) needs millimetric precision in these things.

Don't mind 10-10 rounds, neither.

All the over-reaction to the latter two things in modern boxing is the result of knee-jerk responses to problems that refuse to address the systemic failures of the thing they're responding to; bent judges, corrupt officiating & dodgy decisions resulting in too many drawn bouts, you say?

I know, let's cancel all draws! That'll fix it!

Fvcking stupid idea in the first place & like I said, a category error.

PS: Rather like how trying to stop people hurting themselves weight-cheating has probably led to a shitload of longer-term cases of poor B-sides being fvcked up by bigger dudes, with better access to tech/IV equipment full of pasta/racehorse diuretics. Another boxing genius "fix".

Thanks for the well wishes. Really appreciated. Also your 'digital/analogue' comment is spot on.
